So what is the difference between the SOHC in the Crown Vic and the one in the TC?????

it seems to me that the TC engine i designed to put out more torque than hp..due to the slight weight difference...that may explain the octane difference....i dunno :Beer

Advanced timing (different computer tune) on the tc which yeah is probably to add a bit of power to make up for some extra weight. It also has knock sensors which sense spark knock and retard timing as necessary. It is funny though that these cars are always said to be underpowered. But I almost neaver see a northstar cadi being driven quickly. And the cadis are considered pretty quick for their class and price but its a luxary car. I guess people just want the power to know its there.

A regular Northstar Deville has 275 horsepower, a Towncar has like 239, but in my experience the Caddy is not very much faster if at all. The 300 horsepower northstar might be faster but when you floor it from a stop you can't even control the front end from all the torque steer. Hell I would even call it dangerous. Doesn't compare to the smooth acceleration of RWD.
