Were is everyone putting there aftermarket gauges (piller type gauges). Pic. if possible. And what types(auto meter ect.)
 
I don't have any gauges in my Lincoln, but I have tons in my Mustangs. I use only autometer, and almost always mechanical gauges. I've had great luck, and they've proved to be very durable and reliable over the years.

I use Pro-Comp Ultralites (silver face) in my street Mustang, and Pro-Comp Liquid-filled (black face) in my racecar.

I've not had any experience with the new super-fancy-ding-dong gauges that Autometer has released, but I'm anxious to try them some day. :D

i would like to know this as well. I would prefer to keep my pillar clean, but so far the best location I can come up with is on the passenger side of the console as it begins to rise up to the dash - have the mounts there and the gauges displayed beside this part of the console.
 
If anyone wants, I think I have a 2 gauge gauge pod sitting in my car at my parents house. Anyone interested?? :shifty:

So what is a full A-pillar pod on a Mustang is dang close on a Lincoln? Hmm, that's cool. Can you get some more pics of where the pillar terminates, and the overall fit/finish of everything? Just a request. :D

I have a stupid question-

What's involved in hooking those gauges up? In addition to the pod and gauges, do we need to install sending units to monitor the transmission fluid, oil pressure, or voltage? Are they already there, within the engine, but not utilitzed? And how much wiring is involved?

I've always been disappointed with the Mark's over reliance on dummy lights. Thank goodness for at least the tach

Here's a link to 3 more pics. This 3-gauge pod doesn't replace the A pillar, it attaches to it from the top of the dash up to the top of the door. I used dark brown camouflage paint to match the A pillar. I'm not done with the finishing touches yet; the top of the pod needs to be blended-in as do the paint sploches. The camera flash really shows the flaws. In natural light they are hardly noticible.
C- the voltmeter connection is just wiring, but the trans temp and oil pressure gauges need sending units, which are included with the gauges. The trans temp sending unit is the toughest to install and you may also need a separate manifold installed in the trans fluid return line. Check this site and the other MVIII sites for posts on installing trans temp and other gauges.

Thanks Dan - that's good information. Living in Phoenix (the oven) - I've always wanted a real water temp gauge and possibly oil temp gauge in the car.

That's funny, I thought of doing the exact same thing in my Mark, only without the middle gauge. :)
