well this Saturday my Lincoln LS again let me down, first it didn't wanted to start, and the PATS light flashed rapidly, armed the car and disarmed and everything worked fine, then like 30 minutes after the car died on a stop sign and the message "gear select data error" appeared on the message center, and again the PATS flashing rapidly and didn't wanted to start (started until the 3rd time) this time arming-disarming the car did nothing, that was on Saturday, but today it happened 3 times in like 15 minutes, and going on hi way, so I guess I have to resolve this before moving my car again, and every time I had to start it like 3 or 5 times, sometimes more, once like 10 to get it running, because the PATS didn't let me, I have read that the mystery code says the same "gear select data error" and an E where the gear goes (same in my case) but that disappeared so fast that it didn't gave any problems but in my case the motor shuts off right after this message is displayed, so... what can I do? please help I'm really stressed

Isn't that the kind of strange stuff that happens when the battery is on its way out?

well I have an Optima Blue Top (because I needed the extra posts) and its not that old, maybe a year or so

Throw an auto-charger on it for a couple of hours and see if it makes a difference.
My 06 is sitting outside right now being charged (batt is about ~75% or so - fine for starting but effective RC is bupkiss right now).

I'm going to do that later and will post what happened

Could also be the PATS plug under the steering column. If it's loose weird stuff will happen.

connected the battery charger on slow charge mode (2A) the whole night to be sure the battery was fully charged and still the same, I looked for the connector of the PATS but have no idea where to look  , what other diagnose can you gave me? I really need your help guys... please

It's at the base of the steering column. IIRC, on the bottom.
