Story of my life:
So I bought my gf a 95 Toyota 4-runner a year ago.
The suv had 75,403 original miles on it. Those things apparently
Had a recall on the heads. She blew the head gasket on it and I
Ended up taking it to my shop and having the heads re-done, with
All new top end of the motor including everything in the heads, spark
Plugs, wires, air filter, vaccum hoses, timing chain, I could go forever.
Nonetheless, I let her borrow my '00 ls6.... Man was that a mistake!.
She fell IN LOVE with it and needless to say she said "I wasn't getting
My car back!" so now I'm on the grind for another LS for myself.
I told her welcome to the LS family. :)

P.S I've searched all the car dealerships here
And couldn't find anything. Time to try craigslist
And see if I can't wheel n deal!. I'd like to get a 2nd gen
Ls6...

Option 1:

1) take testicles back from girlfriend. They are probably in her purse next to your money.

2) take ls back and let her search one down.

Option 2:

Call the car in stolen. The next phone call from your girlfriend will be an interesting one :)

Now go get a gen II V8...she did u a favor.

Lol naw, my money is in my bank.
And to be honest she has our 2 yr old boy
And I want them to be safe so I don't mind it.
At least the LS has air bags!... The 4-runner didn't. Lol

Thats why I put my wife in a LS. A plus was the side airbags. These car rank very high in crash tests. 5 star I read.

The sunroofs are practically indestructible.

Yeah that's what I've heard. Nothing is more important
Then the safety of your kid and your woman. Specially
When it comes to idiots that drink and drive or just ppl
That can't drive.
And the sunroof dont work on it, and I'm sure I have to
Replace the clockspring cause the horn don't work and
The airbag light flashes a couple times before staying on.
And I have NO idea how to replace that or even know where
It's at on the car. Just something I have to look into I guess.

Replace the clockspring soon if you want the drivers steering wheel airbag to protect your family.

the clockspring is behind the steering wheel...

Could you be more pacific?...
When you say behind the steering wheel, do you mean
Where the airbag is?
Or there under the plastic on the steering column?
Just need it clarified please sir.
Thank you in advance bro.

I would have to move from AZ to CA to be more pacific [/QUOTE]

I love it.

Save yourself the trouble and get an 06. That way you don't have to hunt down all the goodies.

I'm guessing you want a v6 for the money it will "save" over the v8 on gas, but the very little savings from a v6 isn't worth not having a v8.

No I wanted a v6 because I didn't want a motor that would crap out on me.

Thanks Right on the Mark, lol I've been thinking about joining this group for a while. When I was younger I remember buying a car and always joining the online group.

This bashing could go on all day about Gen1 and Gen2 either way we all drive Lincolns that have issues...just sayin.

Def try to get a V8 do some thinking before you just go out and buy one nothing worst then owning an Ls with payments and not being able to afford to get the car fixed when it breaks-down.

Good luck!

I was getting 25-ish all day long on my 4K-mi road trip the last two weeks in my Gen2 V8. For whatever 1-2 MPG the V6 might get you, it is worth having the extra power when you need to climb an on-ramp into 80-mph interstate traffic, or to just drive on the "normal" roads in West Virginia! LOL

Plus, for the most part, it seems that the V8's are easier to work on for the common problems compared to the V6.

The clock spring is in the steering column behind the horn and steering control buttons etc.
