Go take a picture of your car as is

Nope, no mountains... just a ridiculous amount of snow* this year! My driveway has a pretty good hill so when it snows I park at the bottom because there is NO way to get enough traction to climb it! And no flood damage - it's still my DD so once the snow is cleared off she's good to go

*its a lot more snow than we're used to. I'm sure some of the guys from WI or MN (Pete??) or Canada will chime in... :shifty:

But all the car emmisions are causing GLOBAL WARMING...:bowrofl:

My car a couple hours ago at my parents......just add about 5 more inches of snow to that.

My garage........

LS4ME--I read your reply about the beautiful sunshine in San Diego;

Well I don't have a garage (yet), I live North of Seattle so I hardly ever see the Sun, I own 2 LS's (neither of them drivable), I put all 4 taillights on my Christmas tree this year as well as 3 coils, both headlights and the steering wheel (I will post that on you tube later). I think I need to get my car running so I can pick up some chicks.

The LS on the left (2001) I bought 2 months ago in Oklahoma. It had a broken timing chain (and possibly more) so I had it transported home. It cost about $ 1000.00 for the transport. I've posted a few pics of it the day it arrived. I was not happy. We had the front end all wrapped with professional grade auto wrap but the driver of the transport tore it off prior to loading on the truck so he could document any dents etc. He would not put it back on. I had already flown home. He said that the wrap would come loose during transport and tear up the paint. That is my decision don't you think?

The LS on the right (2002-parts car) I bought last August for next to nothing. It is a Katrina Washout car. I drained out 5 gallons of ------- YES 5 GALLONS of water/oil out of the engine the day I had it towed home. I've included that pic also.

I've named the cars Tulsa (that's where I bought it) and KC (for Katrina Car). I don't like the grill on Tulsa so it will be coming off soon. The reason I'm not driving it right now is it had a broken timing chain which I have fixed but #7 cylinder won't pump up. No compression.

I guess I will treat this as my Newcomer to LVC since I haven't done so yet. Sorry to get off topic somewhat but what the hey, I'm just a newby (kinda). Below are a few topics that I want to reply or post on. I want to thank you all for the information on this site, it is priceless - Just like the Seahawks Saints Playoff Game that my Daughter and I went to last month

* I used two 5 gallon buckets, Duct Tape and a Steamer to separate the Headlights. Works great! I'll do another one soon and take better pics. I've included 1 below. The next one I try I plan to only leave it in the STEAMER for 15 minutes instead of 25. There was a dark milky residue that was covering the lense when I pulled it after 25 minutes. I'm not sure if it was the glue or maybe some residue from the buckets. I'll know more next time.

*I bought a cam positioning tool off of Ebay that didn't fit my car(s). It looks identical to the OTC 303-530 and they stated that it would work but the holes would not line up when it was sitting flush on the cam flats.

I'll end it there or I may take up the whole page. I do get a little frustrated trying to find the right threads to pull info from but hey, If you look long enough the answer is probably there.

P.S. LS4ME, Have you ever seen the Green Flash? :waving::waving::waving:

We have a lot more than normal here too. I believe there is about 18-24" in the backyard right now. I have only shoveled out a small area of the deck (just large enough for me to use the grill lol). The snow there is about level with the top of the grill without lid.

Once. It was pretty cool!

I am actually trying to convince my wife that Washington would be a good place to retire. We really liked Seattle when we were there a couple of years ago. I grew up here and would really like to have four seasons that aren't summer, fire, rain and mudslides! It's also extremely expensive to live here. IMHO, the weather just isn't worth high fuel prices, water "rationing", electricity "rationing" and the traffic.

That said it's sunny and about 55°. Should be ~70° today.

I bought a set of Headlights that had Angels Eyes in it for a decent price knowing that they were going to need some extensive work done to them in order for them to look right. The lenses were left in the oven to long or too high of temperature and it left boil marks all over the lense, Bubbles if you will. With Steam I doubt you can hurt the plastic but I would be careful until I or someone else proves that fact. The first one I steamed was 25 minutes. I'm going to try 15 on the next one. It peeled apart with ease. No broken pieces.

I would like your thoughts on where to post those results or if there is a thread that you can think of that would do the best for the rest. Do you know of any other ways people are taking them apart?

As for the lenses on the set that I bought that were really nasty, I used a palm sander with 600 grit wet sandpaper to start with then 1000, 2000. It worked pretty good. I need to spend a little more time on them before buffing them.

Thanx for the GumBall MICKEY! :Beer

Summers in Western Washington are beautiful but the other 341 days of the years can take a toll on your sanity. I"ve spent a few months around San Diego over the last couple of years, I like it down there.

As far as the fuel prices we are at $ 3.66 for Premium and $ 3.72 for Diesel today. No worries about rationing water here. With the abundance of Hydro Electricity our rates are generally lower than most of the nation. Right now I'm paying between .085-.10 cents pre KWH for electricity.

Right now it is 24 degrees clear and calm. The high was 41. I'm cold!

ME TOO! I though this was a "real-time" picture thread, New York? and its looking like southern Cali.

Thanks! I took mine the same day i posted the picture. And yes, i am from long island, NY.

The warmer weather is starting to come back around little by little....bout time.

The only other ways ive heard people take them apart are baking them and cutting them. I had no problems baking mine, I actually had to do it a couple time to get them to close properly. 220 for about 8-9min.... No damage done. The only precaution I took was that I was worried about the housing touching the steel tray, so i took some aluminum foil and made about a 2x4 Rectangle out of it the put the light on that.

Got gas at Costco yesterday for ~$3.45; the local 76 is $3.73. It was ~75° today, should be ~80° tomorrow and ~85° by Saturday!

Well rub it in why dont you! lol -2 here today and I believe I filled up for $3.35 93 V-power

V-Power is upwards of 3.49 here.. Most expensive place to buy gas in da UP.. *sighs* Glad the LS is sitting this winter..

And it was -13 today.. We didn't even have to go outside.! woop woop.. lol

OK here's mine.

Last weekend I cleaned it off, but it snowed:
