If you want a Good Sound at less price you can do a little thing. You need to remove the little pipe from the air box to the body on the picture. I suggest a square K&N Air filtre  have fun with your LS :D

yes i know, but if you want the sound you can remove them but is you want performance you will install a real cold air intake, at 252 HP is enough for you to kill yourself;) and the speed limit still the same of us
And personally I prefer a black box of a pipe it going anywhere to try to take the coldest air and the air will reheat by the pipe who pass over the block

i have a 2002 LS V8 and on this year the air intake tube is on the front (behind the head light).

Do you really think the air sits in the tube long enough to heat up on its way to the TB?

for the best performance yes you should remove this pipe who pass over the block and relocate the MAF and all vacuum piping

And the title of my thread don't talk about performence
