What’s going on guys?
I need to replace my clock spring but have a few questions.
-Where can I get a quality clock spring for a low price?
-Where can I get the tool required for the steering wheel removal cheap?

Reading all around people call the tool many different names so I just want to be sure that I get what is needed for this at the lowest price possible. (I’m saving up for a fender, intake, and exhaust etc…)
Please I need your help I have to pass NJ inspection in July and want to get a head start

Also I need to fix/replace my inside front driver side door handle. I got to put down the window just to get out of car (VERY embarrassing at times)
-Where can I get one for a low price?
-What is needed to fix/replace?

Finally…
I replaced all four of my O2 sensors and she is getting heater circuit codes for both of the upstreams.
The O2 sensors were Bosch 15717(down) and 15718(up)
-Should I replace them or is there something that I am missing?

Thanks
PS She’s a 2001 V8 Lincoln LS…she is amazing (when she wants to be)

where in NJ are you. I may be able to recommend a reputable tech if you need.

As far as the clock spring, I just did one, wheel came right off after removing center nut which was a torx socket I believe.

I think someone recently did a write up on replacing clockspring, do a search.

I prefer to do everything my self now since I have only had horrible experiencs with these NJ mechanics. The only place I trust is a little overpriced and I LOVE my money. I have saved over 3K the past couple months doing repairs on my 01 lincoln and 99 clk 320. DIY all F...ing day because if I can do it YOU can do it to.

Capio53, please take the time and review the sticky's and search for whatevers not there.... The clockspring was even discussed yesterday..

Use the following when searching:

Searching before you post helps not to clutter this forum with the same questions over and over again... This way when people search, they find what they're looking for and not 1000 threads asking the same thing...

I have been reading into the clock spring for a while but like I said…
-Where can I get a quality clock spring for a low price?

It seems like all the info is on how to do it not where to buy…other than getting the clock spring from the dealer. Is there any other option?
The door handle situation I think I’ll just drill out the rivets and try to get a handle from a junkyard or online somewhere. Unless I can repair…but it seems like no epoxy will withstand the force applied to that particular point (haven’t tried yet). Plastic for a handle = poor engineering
The O2 sensor issue I need help with. From what I understand the process will be first to replace them even though they are new. Then if that doesn’t work try to find where the wire is shorting. I think that I’m on the right track as of now but I just wanted to make sure.
Also are these repairs even required in NJ?
Has anyone got inspected here recently?
I heard that they only check for emissions now…will my Heater Circuit Malfunction code trigger me to fail inspection?
I have till July and want to get this party rolling.

Good deal sir
Now this rental...all I have to do is put down a deposit and when I return it I get my money back right?
I did this when I did the rear brake job and needed the key for the parking brake. It was like 15 bucks and 65 if I didn’t return.

Correct, pay for the tool at the counter and when you return it they give you the money back. Its basically a purchase/refund transaction.

My dealer says the clock spring is 206.XX plus tax...Thanks for forcing me to read that again…LOL. When I saw team ford parts I assumed it was the dealer as well. That seems like the best option right now. Price and part. Will be buying later today. One question while searching for the clock spring(Team Ford Parts) I get 3 results. One is $0 so not that one but the other two are equally priced…does it matter which one?

G-rell...I noticed that you must have recently had the same problem. Good thing you’re here to point me in the right direction.

Hawk03...thanks for the clarification.
Looks like I’m getting on track. Thanks guys...keep it coming;)

Nope, just like to stay up on the cheapest places to buy, our old source retired for these types of things ....

I replaced on a year or so ago, but it came from my other LS. I suppose i'll have to replace that one one day...
