Grille question.....

I've posted a time or two about ebony upper grille wanted. I have a question though.....when did they start making the upper painted to match from the factory? Is it identified by LSE? I'm calling all over the place and they want to know what year. Should I be looking for a specific year? I believe any year grille will fit, is this true?

Any grill from any year will fit. The LSE grill everyone refers is generally the 2nd gen 03-06 grill. The LSE grill for the first gens was slightly different, but also paint matched

2001 & 2002 and 2004 & 2005 for the LSE and all 2006.

I think the only difference between the different Gen LSEs is that the Gen 1 whale teeth piece is painted silver instead of being chromed.

Actually, the Gen1 waterfall is a gunmetal gray.

I am going to look at places that could paint it. I need to have my front bumper done anyways. Nobody has anything but the chrome on top and the black teeth below. *sigh* I must have called 30 different auto recycling yards.
