Guess this is goodbye

You wanna correct that post? Isn't the ass of your car stuck on the ground today and will not air back up? I hope for your sake its just the springs gave up all at once but I bet its green goop stuck in the vents or compressor or lines. This should be interesting to see how far the crap has traveled.

Nope. No problems from the goop yet. The rears have leaked before. Dryrot sucks. I had to adjust the height sensors to close the dryrot cracks and it's been doing fine for years. Until now. It will pump back up, but I can hear the hissing from the rear springs. But they are 14 year old originals. And if I spray silicone spray on them I can see several spots where they are leaking. So I'm pretty sure they're gone. The fronts are fine. As are the compressor and all other components.

Before giving up on the bags, try adding a little more of that sealant to it. You never know, it may last several more months or surprise everybody and last a year or two longer. So far, I'm pretty amazed how the leaky air bag has held up on my once unmolested 97. The leak on mine was pretty severe and once pumped up, it would leak all the air out in about 15 seconds.

I would, but the leaks are too high on the bags and I'd have to fill them half way to the top and I don't want to put that much of the stuff in them. Plus they are already 14 years old. I don't want to risk a catastrophic blowout. So I'll just wait till I can either get a good set of used ones or a new set eventually.

Yeah, if the leaks/cracks are too high, you're SOL (sorry out of luck). Fortunately, my one air bag was leaking right at the fold on the bottom.

Catastrophic blowout is not much of a concern to me. I've had many blowouts due to cracked/bald tires but have always managed to pull the car over to the side of the road and change out the bad tire. My philosophy is to never replace a tire until it is ready to pop. Usually I'm lucky and replace the tire just before it pops but sometimes they just pop without warning and I have to change it out on the road. It's no big deal if you have a good floor jack along and a lug wrench. It's also a good thing to learn how to handle a car in the case of a blowout. It could happen even with new tires. The last thing you want to do is freak out and jam on the brakes and make drastic maneuvers because then, it's all over.

I think you should be shot in the face with a bazooka.

I meant catastrophic "AIR SPRING" blowout, not tires. A sudden air spring failure as you're travelling 75mph down the interstate could severely damage your car. Not to mention KILL YOU. My rear springs are old and cracked to hell. All the slime in the world won't help them, and I'm not going to drive it like that because if one blows out it could severely damage my car. So it shall sit until I can get some springs that will work.

Mike, it looks like its a base. not an LSC....no moonroof?.........nice looking tho. priceseems a little high. bet you could talk him down some.
