Anyone ever done this? Any problems with sensors? If so,any ways to get around them. I think mine are going and for the price of the oem replacements i might as well find a new mark
My brother Mike got them gutted out and stock mufflers cut off.I'll ask him for more infos if you want.Btw here is the video how it sounds Click here to see Video
and here is the one with gutted out cats and stock mufflers,it's little bit louder than stock Click here to see Video
I wouldn't gut them, They are there for a reason. Gutting them wont give you enough power to even tell. Gutting them will actually increase turbulance in the hollow chamber. Go have them tested for free at a muffler shop.
There are no practical gains, just look at the size of the pipe right after them. THey will however make the car sound more aggressive with them gutted. I just took mine out completely.
Well my car is 97. I'm not looking for any gains... for that matter i'm not really looking for anything really other than working cats. I just dont want to dish out all that money to replace them with oem cats. I know the driver side is attatched to the manifold but i dont mind the work if it will save me money and no other problems will arise from gutting them. Thats why I was curious what will happen if i do gut them.
Why not put in a peice of tubing instead of gutting them? You could stand to lose power from gutting them because you would have a big hollow space that would slow you exauhst gases down. Slow moving exauhst gages means less power.
