In my '03 Ultimate I have the 1st generation Navigation radio with the rear overhead DVD setup. I have run RCA's from the DVD out's overhead to the front area so to be able to use my Ipod. It works but looks cheesy having these cables hang and drape from the DVD overhead to the side of the vehicle and then down and under the seats to the console.
It is a simple, cheap quickie way to listen to Ipod (or a Cassette player) thru the OEM sytem.
(to my knowledge PIE does not make an adaptor for 1st Gen Nav systems)
Has anybody done this on a permanent basis, ie...find and splice into the RCA outs of the DVD at the head unit.
Nicer than all the wires hanging all over the car.
Am I making any sense, I think it should work.
