WASS UP EVERY1 I JUS FINISHED INSTALLIN MY EIBACH SPRINGS AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED CUZ THE 1in DROP DOES NOT LOOK LIKE IT DROPPED THE CAR AT ALL.... I WAS THINKIN BOUT CUTIN MY STOCK SPRINGS TO GET A LOWER CUSTOM DROP.. IF ANY1 HAS EVER DONE IT LET ME KNO THE AFTER EFFECTS OF THE SPRINGS.. IIGHT PEACE OUT

Don't cut your springs, heat them up with a torch while they are in the car. (Be careful when you play with fire) That will put your car in the weeds if you want.

Find springs that fit in a harder spring rate, then cut those or youll be up the brown river in a short time.

Just make sure the cut is parallel to the spring seat & expect to bottom out if you hit a bump at high speed

wat do u mean in the weeds???

dropped springs are not simply shorter springs - they are shorter springs with a progessive spring rate, meaning they provide more support the farther they are squeezed down - so they are shorter but provide the same force against the car form the bottom of the suspension as the stock taller springs do.

if you simply cut the stock springs - you not only move the car closer to the suspension bottom but have also reduced it's spring rate and have hurt the handling of the car, while increasing the likeliness of bottoming out....

"In the weeds." would mean the car would be sitting as low as the grass.

"Up the brown river" is a nicer form of "Up the :q:q:q:q creek"

I am with everyone else, don't cut your stock springs - you will regret it after hitting the first bump.

Dude dont be cheap, just get bags or coilovers with a In Home made addapter to fit the coilovers. There aint any I know of for the LS but there is a bunch of air bag apps.

For the coil overs, Ive havent seen it done for the LS yet but I seen it done on some cars you would never expect to see it on.

ooo ok thanx for everyones input.. i guess i will jus stay wit my eibachs... cuz they do ride prety nicee. but i was lookin for a lower look wit these springs.. i guess not :(

you can always get Sprints Lower Springs... that's what Quik has. I think it's 1.75~2 inch drop

Don't cut srpings make the car bounce going down the freeway? I remember several years ago when cutting springs was all the rage in the Civic "tuner" community. All you'd see is these little civics that sounded like weedwackers on pcp bouncing up and down going down the highway. It was quite amusing.

HAHA more like a weed wacker hitting a fence.

mharrison is correct when you heat up springs it is almost impossible to get the car to sit even. You can block the car to help out. Place some blocks under the frame rails as close to the tires as possible and heat each spring up in a pattern as if you were rotating your tires in a criss cross pattern. The blocks should be sized to give you the ride height you want. DISCLAIMER: HEATING UP SPRINGS TO LOWER A VEHICLE IS A HACK JOB!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE DOING THIS TO THEIR VEHICLE!! But it does work.

Got to be carefull. You don't want to melt the spring you just want to heat it up. Never hold the torch in one spot for too long. You want to work the torch around on as much of the coil as you can reach. You want to pick just one coil out of the spring to heat up, preferably as high on the spring as you can reach but never the top coil. Also when holding the torch aim the heat the long way along coil so you are staying as far away from the shock as possible. Good point about being careful around the shocks.

why not just get air suspension setup?, if u heat the stock springs ur gonna get a bouncy ride

or take the spring off the shock would be smart too
than again i dropped my car on 20's and i definatly see a difference i cant fit my finger in my wheel well nemore

wat kind of springs do u have wit ur 20in wheel setup??
and how much does air suspension go for on the ls wit instaltion and everythin???

Maybe you can get the creator of this to do some suspension work for you on the cheap.:p
