ok guys. i want to take my stock Mk shifter "selector" and replace it with this. im going to fab this all up this weekend, and make a leather boot to fit over it. what do you guys think?

Shift lock button. The shift interlock is a small solenoid that is activated when the brake pedal is depressed IIRC on how it works.

What about the O/D button? I did move my O/D to just above the cigarette light on a push button toggle switch, not much further the the shifter and I don't even notice it.

There is one mark with just the boot cover and there is several tbird with them. That just like adding a supercharged emblem to a car that's not supercharged. "Just saying".

how would that look? i don't think it belongs unless you get a 6spd.. i like the t-shaped handle on the mark, although i wish it were shaped more like the 90s foxbody gt's with autos.

The shift interlock for park can easily be disabled. I did not have mine for the last year or so of its life. I had forgotten to hook the cable up for it. So I never had to push the button or put foot on brake to shift.

Thought this might be a really neat mod for our cars... I would even try to find a modern car that has a shifter handle like that. I thought the Navigator might have had a shifter like that at some point...
