HOLYSHI*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My buddy at work has a 2007 STI and he has stage 1 he says, i don't know what the :q:q:q:q that means lol but he said basically it's alittle faster then stock etc.

On a roll it feels faster then a Terminator Cobra (which i test drove). He launched it at 5K and it made me dizzy lol i was never "launched" in an AWD turbo car OMFG!!!!!!!!!

I'm in love!!!!

Forget the Stang or Camaro or GTO...

I'm saving up for an STI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sound of that Boxer engine OMG!

Sorry i'm so excited, this car really shined for me seriously.

Not bad cars. I'd own one if I wanted a smaller fast 4 door. Their quick for sure, but the launch is nothing really. Try riding in a car with a decent set of rear tires and the suspension dialed it. THAT'S a wild ride. I can out run them in my mustang, but then again my mustang traps more then 120mph.. LOL

you think thats a ride try to launch a 2000 hyabusa set up with a wheely bar and slick. leaving the line at 10000 its all you can do to hang on enough to hit the air shifter!! my best time in the 1/4 was 8.82 at 159mph

It was soo much fun. I drove a powerglide street legal 11 second Nova with a BBC years ago, and it was crazy but could not hook on the street like this car lol.

I just did a search and they go for some good $$$$ wtf lol?

PS it was a customers car lol not mine.

I have a 2006 jeep grand cherokee srt8 with diablo tune,180*thermostat, exhaust, intake, msd coil packs, eibach lowering springs...just the normal bolt ons and this thing rips like a mofo off the line and pulls hard on the highway. I don't drive it much but when I do, its a smile from ear to ear for me:D AWD rules when it comes to launching! Sti's are very neat little cars. I wouldn't mind owning one!

Id love to have an STi. since im in the market for a car now ive been looking at WRX's but those things hold their value too well for me to be able to afford one.

I told my g\f that I was gonna take the money from the CE and put it down on a 2011 STI but she didnt think it was funny. My payment would only be like $600\mo lol.

Arent the evo's faster? I know they are junk quality tho... not sure about subaru quality either.

Why are we talking about imports on a Lincoln forum? :p

Why am I reading this?? LOL :D

And most importantly, why do you think a Subaru is an import?

"Subaru of America" doesn't fool me. :p

"Subaru (スバル?) (English pronunciation::q/ˈsuːbəruː/ SOO-bə-roo) is the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI).

Subaru is internationally known for their use of boxer engines in most of their vehicles above 1500cc as well as their use of the all wheel drive drivetrain layout, first introduced in 1972, that became standard equipment for mid-size and smaller cars in most international markets as of 1996. They also offer many turbocharged versions of their passenger cars, such as the Impreza WRX.

Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru, is currently in a partial partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation, which owns 16.5% of FHI.[1]
Subaru is the Japanese name for the Pleiades star cluster, which in turn inspires the Subaru logo and alludes to the six companies that merged to create FHI.[2]"

Compliments of wikipedia.

And most importantly, why do you think a Subaru is an import?

OMFG! not another person who wants to convince the world a foreign company is american because it makes cars in the US.

i guess Ford is a Mexican car company, a British car company, a Chinese car company, a swedish car company, see my point, Ford is American, Subaru is Japanese.Ferrari is Italian. Plain and simple.

I know you said "import", but it doesnt matter, if the nameplate, and more importantly the design is Foreign, its an import, whether the car/parts are imported or not, the technology, design, philosophy etc. is "imported" and the main chunk of money spent on it when someone buys it , is "exported" .

Most people dont know how to properly launch an AWD car anyway. I went up against a mildly modded WRX last night. I went out cruising and met some friends hanging out with their cars. One dude I never met had a 2004 WRX with exhaust, up pipe, down pipe, boost controller and various shiney parts. Hes laughing at my car cause all the cars there were little suped up imports. He says "Whos driving the granny mobile" ..... 20 people that were talking all stopped and I heard one guy go "ohhhhh, hes gonna get beat up"
Anyway we ran them, he bogged his launch and spent the run trying to reel me in but after my Mark builds speed there is no catching up for him.

...... forgot what my point was...... maybe I had no point....... :p

Anyway, I have driven a few STi cars and they are fun and can be modded easy enough.

But if you want something really really fun and inexpensive I would say find a 1999-2002.5 Audi S4. That was one of the best cars I ever owned! APR chip, K04 turbos, full exhaust and it made 398hp at all four wheels. Car was damn near bullet proof and they are really cheap now. Only real expensive part was when I blew the clutch cause its a big job to get to.
Anyway that taught me how to launch it. Turn off the ESP and then time the launch perfectly for the arm drop. What ya do with cars like that is nail the throttle and as soon as the tach swings past 5000rpm you side step the clutch. People used to love watching me launch that car cause the ass would squat so hard the exhaust tip would kiss the ground and the car appears to jump off the line with all four tires slipping ever so slightly. After that the car is off and gone! Won a lot of cash street racing that thing. But I was dumb and bought it new. Had a $818 payment on it. :( Now you can find the cars for $7000 in good shape. Fun fun AWD car though and that twin turbo 2.7 V-6 is an animal that loves boost and mods.

wow! i had no idea how much value they have lost, the S4 looks very interesting to me suddenly

gmc typhoon's are fun little trucks. I had one that had a LOT of bolt on's and that little bastard put a whoopn on some sports cars (vette's camaro's,mustangs, ect). Audi s4's are neat too

Dammnnn you Laser!

i have been googling S4 all weekend now.

Tell me more...

Did you install the upgraded turbos? did you pullt he engine to do so.

my big concern is how easy/hard is the S4 to work on....?

Yeah, put in the larger K04 turbos and did it while the trans was out for a clutch. It was surprisingly easy to do. The computer chip was a bit harder cause you have to soldier it in.
Before I did the turbo upgrades though I just installed the APR chip and a Remus exhaust and some 18" Milie Miglia (sp?) wheels. The car was Negaro blue and to this day I think its the best looking blue I ever saw. Car was geogeous and got compliments everywhere I went. Anyway I didn't heed the warnings to get the aluminum intake pipe and Audi TT 225 bypass valves with the level of chip I used. Turns out the boost level is so high that the stock bypass valves rip apart and the rubber boot that takes the dual intercoolers pipes and "Y's" them to the throttle body also splits under heavy boost. The car will run but the computer freaks out.

What happened to me was I was showing off for two friends in the car. I was on a very curvy section of road and doing an up hill banked left turn under full power and at the ragged edge. Then on the downhill leg that led to a downhill-off camber left turn and when I let off the throttle to brake the boot split open and the computer went into freak out mode. Right before I entered the corner I saw the ESP and traction control lights turn on which means they both just shut off. I knew I was going way too fast but I was planning on the ESP helping me in that turn cause there was no run off room. So I see the warning lights come on and I say "Uh oh".... my friend in the passenger seat: "Uh-oh!? What do you mean uh-oh?" My friend in the back seat: "we gonna die we gonna die we gonna die". I knew the car couldn't rotate right without the ESP doing its brake magic so I reved it and poped the clutch out doing 80mph in 3rd gear then yanked the wheel to the left thus throwing the tail out and then counter steered doing a picture perfect 4 wheel power drift all the way through the turn. My friend in the back seat that was behind me (not wearing a seat belt) went flying into the passenger door with a solid thud and a gasp for air. I exited the corner and my friend in the passenger seat was going "Holy chit that was the coolest thing ever! Do it again!"
That was my first ever power slide. Was a blast but scared the piss out of me too.

Anywho, after that I got the aluminum boot, aluminum intake pipe and the bypass valves the Audi TT 225 used. Was great after that. Never had any breakage. I took the car to the drags every month and always launched the same way. The second the first amber went out I nail the throttle and as soon as the third amber lit up I would side step the clutch right at 5000 RPM and the car would launch like you wouldn't believe. 1.8 second 60 foot times was a breeze. Car ran 12.8 times with ease. Always wanted to try the 100 octane tune but never could get anyone to sell me any race gas.
The car is also in one of the "Option" import videos, I think its number 3 or 4, with a camera over my shoulder as the car is swinging past 160 MPH with 4 other people in it.
Yes I was a tard back then.... more so then now, and did stupid crap without thinking of others safety.
Car was a blast though and one of the best cars I ever had. The seats were perfect, the ride was wonderful, the cornering was phenomenal and it took a beating but never broke down. ... ....... for what I have in my Mark I could have had another one.... wish I would have thought of that before.

This is a Negaro Blue S4. Pics never do this color justice. When you see it it looks as if its illuminated from under the paint.

Awesome, thanks for the info.

Ps, i had a friend that sounds just like you, he did something similar with his Stealth TT years back, drove it without regard for anything. :)
