Last time I posted was in march of 2011 before I deployed asking Lincoln LS storage questions.

Well Iv'e been back since june, car came out of storage and fired right up with no issues whatsoever :)

Decided recently I was gonna freshen her up a bit.. new paint for my front bumper and mirrors... was thinking maybe some exhaust.

Then i started seeing all the angel eyes pics... decided that's what i wanted, my old headlights look like they've been sandblasted anyways so i picked up these...

The fit and finish could be better, ive seen good work done by many on these forums... and its just not that quality, the halos arent mounted and sized flush with the reflector... but they still look good. So im keeping them. Helluva lot better than my old ones at anyrate.

They came pre wired. have high and low bulbs the ballast or controller mounted on the headlight assy for the halos, 2 leads with connectors for the halos, they didn't have the blinkers but not a problem... didnt expect the high and low beams to be honest.

There is a wire harness with a relay for the halos....but the package didnt come with any installation guide or wiring schematic whatsoever... so I sent them an email asking for info.. in the meantime i decided to try to figure it out. At least get them mounted.

After i got them mounted i couldnt resist so i started to figure out the Halo harness.

The harness looks well made, heatshrank and snakeskinned it has 2 heavy gauge power and ground wires with "eye" or washer style terminals, 4 power wires for the halos, 2 a side. a relay and a fuse in the power wire.

2 Smaller leads.. and through research the conclusion is its to trip the relay. dont understand the 2 wires though.. why 2?

Decided to strip the eye off the power wire and put a female terminal on it and plug it onto one of the unused male terminals on the fuse box power bus bar.

Removed an 8mm bolt from the fender next to the fuse box sanded it and mounted the ground eye terminal there.

Before I hard mounted the relay and fuse decided to try it out and see if they worked. So i reconnected the battery, and touched the relay "trip" lead to the same positive bus in the fuse box.. relay trips and the halos come on.
woohoo!! great! ultrabright.

Want the lights to come on with the amber lights.. thought about the fog lights but... dont much care for running with the fogs.. so amber it is.

None of my work is really hard mounted yet.. wire isnt routed etc... was just testing. so i spliced into the .. think its the orange/grey.. cant remember its the one others have said in all the posts ive read.. i didnt feel like disco ing the battery again so i just removed the fuse from the halo harness. spliced my trip wire into the amber light, plugged the fuse back in to make sure they came on with my ambers... POP! fuse blows. BEFORE i turned on the ambers.

I soon realized that i had disconnected my driverside's halo wiring pulling back the plastic sheathing to get to the connectors and the 2 ends were touching on the ground over there where i had left em.

I separate the 2 loose ends.. cussing all the while mind you.. replace the fuse and the halos come on. so they arent fried at least. But i ask myself why when the ambers aren't on???

My question is this.. is the orange/grey wire constantly powered? even with the car off.. meaning that the lighting switch for the headlights and ambers is on the ground side of the wire after the lamps?

If that is the case...arghh!... maybe my relay is fried shut, again arghhh!

Gonna go get my multi meter tomorrow, in storage about 45 minutes away.

Afraid to work anymore on it.. been up for close to 28 hours now.. suffering a bit with some insomnia lol.. and i really dont want to be messing with electrical anymore tonight.. for safety sake haha.

Any suggestions comments would be appreciated, ill get back on it in the morning when i get my meter, ill reply with my answers sometime tomorrow hopefully it will help someone else who runs in to this problem with this particular set of lights.

Ahh well this is what i get for my impatience lol. i knew i shoulda made the drive for the meter before i started.

Well fixed it, ended up splicing in the relay trigger wire into the fogs.
The ambers have power going to them all the time, maybe between the switch and ground i could have ran the trigger wire but i really didnt want to route a wire into the cabin so the fogs will do.

They work and look great, still havent recieved a reply from the seller, wont necessarily give them a bad rating, but they should give me an email response. ill give them a couple more days.

I must confess that I haven't read the whole post. Anyway, here's some LS lighting 101 for you.

The positive power wires to all of the lighting are switched on as soon as you disturb the car. (Disturb = unlock, open a door, open trunk, turn key on, ...)
They then stay on until twenty minutes after you turn the key off and haven't opened or closed a door, trunk, locks, ...
When the light is actually supposed to be on, the negative (or ground) side of the bulb is grounded. Otherwise, it's more or less floating.

ty for that.

Plugged into fogs works good. might mount a switch, after doing some reading I see that running a trigger wire to a switch in the cabin may not be such a bad idea, doesnt look to be too difficult anyways.

Now the only problem is.... i never would have guessed they would be so bright, i mean i could damn near run them alone without the headlights and see fine at night. Concerned that i might be blinding oncoming motorists. Have to test with some friends, so far i havent had anyone oncoming flash me yet so maybe they aren't too bad. maybe a resistor to lower the power abit is in the future if it is a problem.

I'm intrigued at the quality of these lights....they seem to be about what I want to do.

I'm guessing they are an aftermarket housing and lens.....how is the fit and finish....and did they email you back??

I guarantee you are blinding no one.. Can you post pics of this setup?

LED angel eyes are bright, very brightm but dont have much light output. It is not enough to drive with them on at night. They are very bright though, when I first put mine on, I would walk away and look back as I locked it to see the rings flash. When I tried this at night, it hurt a little because it was dark outside and they were so bright.

I would not drive with only the rings on at night though.
