Just last friday, i was listenting to music with my car, it wasn't running, and it died, i jumped it back to life, and ever since then the battery hasn't been holding a charge, so i called up the dealership and had them get me a new motorcraft battery, only problem is, i can't get the old battery out, i unhooked the positive (+) and negative (+) clamps, but there's this black metal piece that seems to require a socket to untighten it to bring the battery out, but i've went both ways with the socket trying to untighten it, and everyway i go it gets lose for a bit, then right back tight again, i dunno what the deal is, any feed back would help alot, i'd have the dealership do it but i just got my 2nd dui and i'm selling my car now, to pay off court costs.

i'd have to guess that its stripped.
best suggestion I have is to lightly pry up the bracket so as to put pressure under the nut to try to pull it up as you turn it.

If you're buying the battery from the dealership, they will probably change it out for you.

When I wanted to take off the locked lug nuts, I bought new ones from them and they did it w/out charging extra for the service of removing the locked nuts.

If you're not buying the battery from a dealership, you'll just have to muscle it loose and fix it with a new bolt.

I had the exact same problem last week. The bolt isn't reverse thread and more than likely it is not stripped. The bolt has quite a bit of thread on it and you must continue to losen it until unthreads itself. Patience is a virtue.

Yep the bolt was stripped so i just had to pry it loose, thx for the help guys, maybe this is my turn of luck
