Hello All, does anybody make a replacement set of lems for the Mark VIII.
Afew friends and me are trying to restore the lihgts and need new lens for
the frist gen Mark.
Love the car, HATE the lights. If nothing else will make templets and try to build my own.
93 Low old guy car. Just starting to do the mods.
Thanks for anyinfo

Ok, this is a topic that has been covered a lot of times and there is a lot of info if you search.

But basically there are 2 types of headlight housings for the 93-96 Mark VIIIs: the halogen (yours) and the HID (late 95 through 96 LSC models.) The halogens suck, because in addition to the deterioration you probably see on the outside of the lens, the reflective material on the inside will essentially burn and turn black.

Your options are buying new halogen housings (around $400 IIRC,) trying to have them refinished (there is a guy claiming he can fix the reflective material and restore the lens for around $100 per side.) Or buying HIDs, wherein you can buy the housings and mount an aftermarket HID kit in them, or the whole setup (housings, factory ballasts and bulbs - beware the factory bulbs are out of production and used ones are going for $150+ on eBay.)

Search search and search some more...

And all the stuff D said was spot on

Send me a PM tonight when I get home I'll send you and e-mail for a guy who can solve your problem for $100 per headlight. This is the cheapest remedy. I have a set of this guys refurbished headlights and I like the results. Just cleaning the lens will not make the headlights better it's the reflective backing. This guy repairs the reflective backing along with cleaning the lenses.

Thanks for all the replys. What I'm really looking for is the lens. I have 2 sets with broke lens and have removed them. I also stripped the silver and have had one set powder coated chrome and they have a very bright finish and high temp rating. Does anybody know anything about injection molding or
polycarb molding.
Thanks, Eli

If someone can find a real solution to the lights the could sell quite a few.Someone must know how to do this. How about an angle eye setup and no need for the reflective backing maybe molded in?

I would either buy a new set from Team Ford for $400 bucks or call Mespocks guy up and see what he has. I have had my new hallogen housings for well over a year now and they still look brand new. I think a big problem is the auto light feature. turn that thing off! I see marks cruising around in the day time with their lights on all of the time. Only use them at night!
