Ok guys (generic) I know there are some girls out there also. I am not sure where to start. I do have factory repair manuals but still a little unclear where to start as these areas are hard to access I have a 2000LS 3.9 w 143k on it . driving back from Birmingham Al. 200mile trip with the AC on blowing good cold air my daughter states that warm air is blowing out of her passenger side dash vent and while I was checking, [tough to do while driving] I also noticed warm air out of the rear seat console vents. All the other vents center console drivers side vents and foot vent are blowing cold so far I am not sure if this is the DCCT control valve or the DATC panel that controls some of the actuator doors and sensors. I am leaning toward the second because I am not getting hot air all over. Unfortunately the manual lists about 16 type symptom problems for the DATC but does not seem to match my scenario.
No codes pop up on dash and all controls seem to be working on the DATC including the display panel on it. Sigh:rolleyes:wish for the old days when you could move a lever cold/hot and shut the heat system. I do have an ohm meter but not a code reader yet, although I know I will need one soon. Not sure if I need one for this problem yet. Any thoughts? I hate to go to a dealer and pay $90 dollars just to start a diagnostic to start to figure out what is wrong. Not afraid to start taking things apart but my garage has no ac just shade and it is usually 85-90 degrees out. I do have a spare ride so this can be apart for a while.

The DCCV is the only part that controls temperature. It does this by controlling the flow of hot coolant into the two heater cores. There is nothing in there anywhere to control separately the temperatures from the rear outlets and the center vents. There is only control for the left side and the right side, which includes the center vents and the rear vents. You are fooling yourself. (It's okay, others have as well.) Your failure has the driver's side on max cooling and the passenger side on max heating. Since the driver's side core is bigger than the passenger side core, some unexpected temperature gradients happen.
While you might be the rare exception with a bad discharge air temperature sensor, almost certainly you have the most common LS climate control problem, a failing DCCV.

Thanks. Did not know that there were 2 heater cores. That makes more sense now. About that DCCV can you get it aftermarket or only from ford dealer. I may have to scrounge in a salvage yard. I'll browse around the forum also. Had seen many posts on the DCCV.

Thanks again to blueberryyum. found some listings on this sights and found parts geek etc order on its way. Now if I can remove the parts above it just to get a clear shot at it.

Don't get a used one. It is a wear item.

Thanks again joegr. you really know the Lincoln LS. Found the item on parts geek. Not sure if other sites carry it.

Lots of places have it. Rockauto, O'Reilly Autoparts, Amazon, FordPartsGiant, Tasca, ...
