Ok guys (generic) I know there are some girls out there also. I am not sure where to start. I do have factory repair manuals but still a little unclear where to start as these areas are hard to access I have a 2000LS 3.9 w 143k on it . driving back from Birmingham Al. 200mile trip with the AC on blowing good cold air my daughter states that warm air is blowing out of her passenger side dash vent and while I was checking, [tough to do while driving] I also noticed warm air out of the rear seat console vents. All the other vents center console drivers side vents and foot vent are blowing cold so far I am not sure if this is the DCCT control valve or the DATC panel that controls some of the actuator doors and sensors. I am leaning toward the second because I am not getting hot air all over. Unfortunately the manual lists about 16 type symptom problems for the DATC but does not seem to match my scenario.
No codes pop up on dash and all controls seem to be working on the DATC including the display panel on it. Sighwish for the old days when you could move a lever cold/hot and shut the heat system. I do have an ohm meter but not a code reader yet, although I know I will need one soon. Not sure if I need one for this problem yet. Any thoughts? I hate to go to a dealer and pay $90 dollars just to start a diagnostic to start to figure out what is wrong. Not afraid to start taking things apart but my garage has no ac just shade and it is usually 85-90 degrees out. I do have a spare ride so this can be apart for a while.
