Lurked for a long time, and joined up. Lots of good info shared here. Thanks to everyone!! You saved me lots of money! lol

I did search an awful lot but I still have a question. A brief history...1998 Mark VIII.

I pulled the car out of storage after a year and a half and upon its first drive it over heated after 15 minutes, getting to its operating temp. I added some anti freeze right there. I assumed it was an air pocket and just burped. The temp went right back down and has never been an issue since. But my heat coming from the heater is lacking. So I read the tech article- http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/tech/Lincoln-LS/CoolingSystemDraining/ and I guess Im a little confused about exactly how to do it. Does this even apply to my engine? What do I need to loosen to bleed it? The round part on top of the thermostat with the square hole? And just follow the procedure? Or am I way off? lol Hopefully I can get this done soon. Thanks!!

Right. Long time listener first time caller, right? Cracka', please.

No you didn't. Otherwise you'd follow a different troubleshooting venue. One that leads to the blend door.

Put the tools away, and take your car to a competent mechanic. It would appear that you don't even now the difference between a Mark VIII and an LS... either that or the small print title that says "Draining the Lincoln LS Cooling System" eluded you.

Thanks for being a tool. I did search, but obviously I didnt find the answer. I didnt think the blend door applied here. Thanks for the link showing me where to look. I can comprehend the difference between the two. Yeah I read a lot of your posts too, more where like your last one....

Pot... Kettle... 'nuff said there.

You think?

I didnt think the blend door applied here.

That's what you get for thinking... or, in your case, NOT thinking.

Thanks for the link showing me where to look.

I'm sorry, I didn't get the memo where indicating I was your personal Google. I gave you the hint you need, but you "didn't think it applied". Not my concern you're so dim you can't figure it out.

I can comprehend the difference between the two.

It is clear as day that you don't, since you are trying to burp a Mark VIII engine based on an LS guide. I mean, that's like trying to drive a stick shift in "automatic" mode. Or, maybe you just don't comprehend written text. Who knows.

Yeah I read a lot of your posts too, more where like your last one....

Here's a novel idea. Pull your head out of your ass, and instead of reading my posts, go read some posts that will help you with your issue. And a little time saving hint, in case you forget: The Mark VIII is not an LS.

LOL yea your still a tool. Glad we are friends now. Quote this please.

Now I know why Frogman is so well loved. :p

He is right though, the blend door problem has been covered so many times that if you just type "no heat" you will find several threads on it.

If you have no heat or air flow then 98% of the time it is the blend door at fault. Sometimes the car isnt running and that covers most of the other 2%. :D

As far as burping the cooling system, thats pretty well covered too. But the jist is when the car is cool (or hot, that might be entertaining) open the port on the crossover tube and start the car up making sure the car is level or slightly nose up. Add coolant to that port untill it cant hold more.

Forgot, then put the cap back on the port. :wrench

I've been called lots of tools...

Tool for destruction, tool for over overkill, tool for wrecking women, tool for pissing people off (my favorite, by the way), and lots other uses. Which one in particular, are you referring to, again?

And for the record, I'm far from being "friends" with you. I don't associate myself with short bus riders such as yourself.

And it's "you're", not "your". The written English language can be such a pain for native English speakers...

Thank you! lol

I did search no heat. I do get luke warm heat out of the defrost, vents, floor, etc. So I was thinking more of a air pocket issue than a blend door, since it had good heat before it over heated real quick. But obviously WTF do I know. Most of the threads turn into BS and offer no real info, besides go search. So I thought I would ask.

Frog, I was referring to a short (stubby) tool. And even us short bus riders have to have some short tool to laugh at.

Thanks for being a grammar modzi too! Glad you edited that in at the last second.

Forgot Cassie Protector Tool ...

In Cassie's case, I think of it more as a "fine surgical strike" tool.

Thank you! lol

You're (see how the youre and you're work here?) welcome.

You tell us, since you're the one trying to bleed a Mark VIII cooling system based on an LS cooling system.

Yup... most of them. I suppose you've been over every single thread, then?

I hate to break it to you, but at 6' 7", I'm far from short.

Thanks for being a grammar modzi too!

Kinda sad when someone you call a "tool" just schooled you on 2nd grade grammar, ain't it.
