Lurked for a long time, and joined up. Lots of good info shared here. Thanks to everyone!! You saved me lots of money! lol
I did search an awful lot but I still have a question. A brief history...1998 Mark VIII.
I pulled the car out of storage after a year and a half and upon its first drive it over heated after 15 minutes, getting to its operating temp. I added some anti freeze right there. I assumed it was an air pocket and just burped. The temp went right back down and has never been an issue since. But my heat coming from the heater is lacking. So I read the tech article- http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/tech/Lincoln-LS/CoolingSystemDraining/ and I guess Im a little confused about exactly how to do it. Does this even apply to my engine? What do I need to loosen to bleed it? The round part on top of the thermostat with the square hole? And just follow the procedure? Or am I way off? lol Hopefully I can get this done soon. Thanks!!
