You know...back in 1974 (I think) I had a Mark that came with some sort of "Gold" option. It was a special gold paint and...believe it or not....all the windows on the car had an actual gold film laminated between the glass. If you looked at it just right in the sun light, all the windows looked gold. The neat part? You turned on the electric defrost and current flowed to the film in EVERY window. Every window in the car would defrost. It had two alternators. One was dedicated to the windows and if I remember correctly, used ac current instead of dc. It was slick! The only problem was that the windshields were $800 to replace. And back in 1974, that was a ton of money. Although I never had a problem with the system, I believe it was only offered that one year.
