I bought an 01 ls about two months ago. The only thing the interior is missing is one chrome enlay piece on a heater vent. I know it's a small thing but I catch myself dwelling on it. i went to the dealership and it's 140.00 because you have to buy the entire heater vent assembly. I put a request on LKQ for the vent but no response. So now I'm asking anyone if they know where I can find one or if someone has a parts car that they well be willing to sell me the piece. I'm not asking for a freebe but not over price either. Thanks for the help in advance. gijoe

I'm missing th same damn piece. If you find it let me know.

Mike

I found this on the ford parts network site:

W/o message center 02-04 $44.95 $0.00 $37.76
Instrument panel - Instrument panel - Air vent - Center

You woudn't need the message center, since we just want the metal clips. If we can't find anyhting else, I'd go half and half with you, then we could both get one of the metal clips.

gijoe,

Below is a picture of the "knob" with the part number. Contact Torrie with Ford Parts Network at torrie@fordpartsnetwork.com to get them. The last time I bought one was $4. However, shipping is $7.99 so maybe you can take that part number to the dealer and see if the can get it for the same price.

I'm missing one of those too. Did you order them from Dealership or online?

It would probably be cheaper taking that part number above to your local dealer and have them order it. It would be cheaper that way.

Ozman dealership, theres no shipping to get it from ford. Just 4 dollars and 20 cents with tax.

Thanks for all the help, I ordered it and got it the next day. It cost me $6.02 with tax. Thanks Again

No problem. Glad to help and provide the part number.

I'm missing the one by the door on the passenger side and it pisses me off every time I see it but when I get to the dealership I forget to order it :Bang .

I was thinking of going to the dealership and walking into a used LS and just pulling the little crome thing off......is this bad?

That depends on whether you get caught or not.

Hey... While your at it, why don't you just walk into a convience store and take the ATM.. that'll take care of all you $$$ problems about purchasing the piece... :) Plus you don't have to worry about getting caught at the dealership :Beer
That would be my plan.

I like your idea better.
But if your gonna do it right lets steal the LS for a get away vehicle first.

I just hate to explain to my wife why I got busted for a $4 piece of plastic.

ok ok

LMAO.... well since you put it that way...maybe i'll just buy it.
I'll save my "one crazy thing that I'll regret forever" for something else. :waving:
