Help! BackUp camera issues

^ lol

I just won the appradio2 off of ebay. Gonna put that in the LS. Picking up a Nexus 7 that I'm putting in my 2010 accord.

Are they a direct fit in the housing?
i had to custom fit the bulbs i used. (35w 9145 bulb)

i ordered the cam off of ebay and i have a pioneer avh-3200bt. how do i connect the camera to my headunit? do i run the power wire from the camera to the acc (red) wire? and ground (black) wire to the body? where do i hook up the reverse camera wire from headunit to?

You will have interminant problems with the headunit, amp, and camera. The amp turn on circiut was not design to turn a camera on with a heated lense. If you can't find the info in this thread. Try PMing MrHowie

FYI I ,ade this topic a "sticky" for anyone else that has problems or questions.

there is two different easy ways to wire the reverse camera.

first off there is an RCA cable from the camera that will run up to the pioneer and just plug in,

then you need to decide if you want the camera on all the time (some radios can have the camera selected as a source so you can keep an eye on what your towing)

if you want it on all the time, then run the reverse wire all the way to the back along with a ACC wire (red from the radio), connect the acc wire to the cameras power wire, and the reverse wire to the trigger wire at the reverse light itself

if you only want the camera on when in reverse, then just run the cameras power wires over to the reverse light, positive to positive, and negative to the lights negative trigger wire, you will also need to run the radios reverse wire back to that same trigger wire.

Isn't there a reverse switch on the shifter you can tap off of?

Actually, no.
The shifter inside the car does not have a switch for reverse, only park, manual mode, and shift up and shift down.

The Digital range transmission sensor on the side of the transmission under the car does have switches for reverse, but they are encoded. There's no simple reverse / not reverse signal used. (There actually is provision for a simple reverse signal, but it is not used.)

Of course, the REM powers the reverse lamps when in reverse, signals the parking aid when in reverse, and signals the rear view mirror.

yeah on my headunit it can be selected as a source. so on all the time is fine. which one is the trigger wire on the reverse light?

At the left backup light, black/green. It is negative trigger.
At the right backup light, black/red. It too is negative trigger.

At the rear view mirror (and at the REM), white/black is the positive trigger wire for reverse. (It is white/red but the same signal at the rear parking aid if you have that option.)

you cant do that, theres 12v constantly on the reverse light.

That's not completely true. The +12V feed to the lights shuts off when the car goes to sleep (20/30 minutes after the key is off and you last open/close a door or whatever).

In any event, I think that his plan is that the ground to the camera will be switched on and off with the reverse lights. My only concern with that is if there will be leakage from the ground of the video cable attached to the camera. (This would work just fine with a wireless camera.)

nice try, but it does work

pay closer attention this time
positive to positive, and negative to the lights negative trigger wire

trigger being the key word, as in the wire that gets shut off. with constant power and no ground the camera is off, when the REM gives the wire a ground, the camera turns on.
