The key won't turn in my 2002 LS V6. The power works when the key is inserted but it won't turn. I can turn the steering wheel and I've tried the brakes but nothing works. This is the first time this has happened. Any ideas?

Has anyone found out why this happened and how to fix it? It has happened to me and my car is stuck in the driveway. Lincoln road side (non) assistance, which sucks, will not take my car until Monday or even send someone out.

Thanks - Tony

Tony this just happened to me and believe it or not I just didn't have it in park all the way. I'm not sure if the selecter is sensitive but...hope this is all that's wrong. Good luck.

I am not sure if my problem is the same or not, but I had a key stuck in ignition on my wife's Audi. Had to pull out the whole ignition and take it in to the locksmith for him to fix it.

Only cost me $50, but to take it off took some time. :)

I guess like stuck pins inside of the lock or something... if anything, spray some of the teflon based lubricant into the lock!!!
