Help me price my LS?

Selling my LS so I can move to ATX. Not sure what it's worth on the market. I know wholesale is $1500, KBB is $5000-$6000, and lost on what I should ask for it. I'm in the Chicago area. I could put a little into it cosmetically as well if that will boost the profit.

2000 Lincoln LS Sport
3.9L V8 Black, Sunroof
91k miles (mostly highway, former business car, 3rd owner)

Mechanically: 9/10 (Needs a clockspring)
Cosmetically: 6.5/10 (Needs a good buff, and has some minor scuffs and dings and cracked windshield)
Interior: 7/10 (aged leather and carpets could use a cleaning, as well as seat belts)
Includes: 1 Key, Manual, Full Spare (tire is no good on it), and any documentation I can supply from the repairs I've done.

Repairs I have done: passenger rear wheel bearing, front driver upper control arm (ball joint), Coil Packs and driver upstream O2 Sensor, Updated from hydraulic fan to Taurus e-fan (electrical system is great with it), brand new coolant bottle, Updated to poly sway bushings, recent alignment (early summer), 2 new front tires (rears need to be replaced), Sony aftermarket stereo (iPod dock built in, could swap for stock radio/CD changer), Aftermarket 6x9's in Sub deck.

Thanks for any advice. If it's not worth much I'll just keep it, I love this car.
 
The age old question. This is always a tough one. With the lower mileage and condition, I would think between $3500-$4000 would make someone interested an LS consider moving on it. What were you hoping to get out of it?
 
2000's go for 2.5 to 5k around my area. I would ask what you feel it's worth and see if you get some hits, if not, lower the price till you do. It's all a mater of finding that right buyer.
 
I posted $5k on Craigslist to see if anyone nibbled on it, and nobody did. So I went to $4k which is ideally what I'd like to get out of it and got a bunch of trade offers (not trading) but no cash offers. I have a buddy who said he'd take it for $4k in a few weeks but gotta take that with a grain of salt. The absolute lowest I'd take for it is probably $3500. In my area same year V6's with 140k miles go for that price so I don't understand what's wrong with it. Perhaps the gas mileage.

I feel like if I had to I could part it out for $4000 but IDK how that would work with it having a lien on the title... don't ask don't tell? lol.
 
It's the end of summer so I can't see 4 door sports sedans being on people minds right now, especially in Chicago. I'm with the other guys, CL search and price accordingly. If you are serious, see what it needs to get inspected by the next guy and fix that stuff first. Either way the car will be worth more with good glass and tires.

The car is 13 years old now as well, good luck with it.
 
Point of reference, I just paid 4k for a 2001 V6 5spd w/149k in SW Mi this past Sunday. (Seller started @ 4900, it needs a clock-spring as well)

Who's recently purchased a 2001 clock spring? Where purchased and cost?

Your 2000 is a gorgeous car, but I had to have a 5 spd,

Sorry about the "off topic" however the best price I've found for a Gen1 clock spring is at parts.com 142.47. Searched the OEM catalogs with the part num of: XW4Z-14A664-AA.

Where is everyone else sourcing their clock springs?
 
^ Yep that's what my plan is. Put a bit of money into dressing it up and fix all the tiny things and go from there.

I know the timing isn't "proper" to sell this car in my area, however I live in a town where people go through cars like a pack of smokes so it's not abnormal to sell cars at this time or even in the winter here. I'll let you all know how it turns out in the end.
