Heya guys this is my first cadillac it has a 145k miles on it and I'd like to restore this car as it is by far my favorite yet.

I did the rotars and pads already and I'm just looking for some tip's and pointers for things I should be aware of or looking for. I strongly suspect the previous owners had a real shotty mechanic for a variety of reasons.
Any and all pointers would be appreciated greatly!

Thank you in advance;
William

William, I had a 92 coupe for a couple of years. At 120,000 I had to have the trans rebuilt. With those miles, it may have already been done. There is a plastic tee up near the throttle body that connects the heater hoses, It will corrode & break. I had a 92 Eldo with the 4.9 & this happened as well. It's a cheap fix @ your local plumbing store or home depot. Just make sure the new fitting is rated to at least 240 degrees. Don't buy the factory piece, too much money & may not even be made anymore. They also tend to leak oil @ the rear main & valve covers. I would suggest that you get a lower temp thermostat for the car too. They run very warm. 180 or even 160 will work without throwing off your gas mileage. The eldo would get up to 215 degrees at times & on hot days it would reach 230. I asked the stealership about this & they said that it was normal but I just didn't agree. If anything, running cooler can only help it last longer. Your front wheel bearings will eventually need to be replaced if they haven't already. You'll know when they go. And just as a heads up, they sound great with aftermarket mufflers. One last thing, if the car has the manual telescopic steering wheel, don't mess with it, I had an 86 coupe deville drop the steering wheel in my lap while driving. it was a cheap fix but you never know. Good luck with it.

i own a 91 deville, i would check out the starter, alternator, brake booster, cat converter... i have had many problems with mine but i fixed it all. luckily i worked at a gm dealership any problems you come across just ask...

lol on that T connector... I was told the car had a radiator leak and couldn't for the life of me find it... till I got to the T connector. It crumbled when I went to take the clamps off=/

What I could use some help with is the power steering pump. It started squeaking/squelling today, and upon inspection the fluid level is good but the pulley is not rotating properly it looks like its bent (wobbles in rotation) Is this just the pulley , the belt tension or the pump itself?

and how hard of a job is this to do?tips/ suggestions?

Do not replace that T fitting with a standard T fitting. It has to have the restriction on the leg facing the passengers side or you wont have heat or very little.
