Help with coolant

2001 lincoln ls v8 currently draining coolant for complete system overhaul what should I avoid in using new antifreeze I have a o Reilly and auto zone near me. Thanks

Any good extended life universal coolant should be fine.
I've used Prestone pre-mixed extended life coolant in both of mine. Just don't mix brands of coolant.

Glad you are on just removed the old water pump there is a metal plate and hard rubber gasket on the engine housing does that come off and if so how?

I think the first gen uses a big o-ring and a gasket for the water pump. Metal plate? Are you taking about the timing cover (whole front of the engine)?

That "plate" does not come off. The rubber seals do. Four are showing in your other picture on the other thread.

That black plastic along with the metal shim plate is off the existing waterpump ...the new water pump looks like metal ...does rhe new water pump come with a paper gasket and new rubber O Ring?
