Just thought I'd drop a line to say hi. I'm in Kuwait, awaiting a plane to take me into Iraq. It was a LONG plane ride. From Hawaii we went to minneapolis, then to Shannon, Ireland, to Djibouti (Africa) to here in Kuwait. I'll be able to check up on the forums every now and then, which will help break the monotony. Bye!

I just got back from deployment to Djibouti in November. How was the heat? I'll tell you, I didn't think that it could get any hotter than the middle east, but I was wrong...... Africa is crazy HOT!!!

Stay safe out there and come home safe.

Be safe Marine!!! Your Mark is waiting for you.

God Bless and thank you! My thoughts and prayers are always with the watch standers.

Fair winds and following seas.

Semper Fidelis brother...

Yesterday I had the honor to participate in a Marine Corps ceremony for the change of command for our unit... our CO (Comanding Officer) is leaving us and being replaced by our former XO (Executive Officer)... it was awesome... then when evening colors sounded and I saw out the corner of my right eye that our colors (US Flag) were being brought down with no movement in sight... every soul was perfectly still except for the privilidged ones that were pulling on the ropes... every serviceman/woman both Navy and Marine that was in uniform was saluting... it made me feel proud of my country and our armed forces...
Our Sergeant Major just recently got decorated for bravery on the battle-field... what a person to look up to... I know that my father came to this country when the US needed laborers for the crop fields, and were letting immigrants have legal residence in exchange for labor... although I'm 100% Mexican and am proud of my heritage.... I'm proud of MY country that helped my father get his family on it's feet... Today I'm an active duty member of the world's most elite fighting force, the United States Marine Corps... and I'm proud to serve... I know this is alot to read but for now I'll end this like this....

God speed brother.... Semper Fidelis... you WILL be home soon...
