I was just trying to be funny man. lighten up.

Lol, I wrote something but decided it twas a little ghey. Had nothing to do with what you posted.

Those bulbs are just regular halogens, the thing ratteling around is probably the filament making that bulb useless. Why they're in the glovebox idk, but they don't appear to be the right ones even for the high beams.

I'll take the adapters for $50 to start this off. Thats one for each side right? will I still need the bolts and cover for the missing hid? I mean the adapters would be stage 1 for this project anyway right? If all goes well then I'll get the kit in 2 weeks. Would this be a good idea?

$50 would be for just the adapters. If you need the cover and the little nuts, I can supply those as well for an additional cost.

I recommend buying the whole kit together, since you won't be able to use the adapters without the proper bulbs anyway. I believe the ones you have shown are some jerry-rigged halogen bulbs. I urge you not to use them any longer...

ok, so I've found a sweet honey hole of information on this subject on this forum, Im trying to limit my questions because I know for fact I'll have more...& Man I"d be stupid not to get this kit. So I gotta wait about 10 days to send you the money. I just got my rent paid so this next pay period is dedicated to these lights. Once again thank you to everyone for your help. Without it I probably would have ordered an EBAY almost extinct sylvania bulb and been pissed when it popped due to water on chrome & chrome disappearing. The answer to paying extra for the bolts and cover is HELL YES PLEASE! Name your price. Do we do this through pay pal?

Yep. PayPal. Let me look at what I've got and let you know. I know I have the nuts, but I'm not 100% sure about the little cover.

cover nuts and bolts would save my ass, like I posted before I only have a 1st generation in my junkyard. And unfortunately no fabrication skills. Would a Mcdonalds cup & duct tape work? jk jk lol.

Maybe I just got two bad DDM kits. No, make it three since I just had to replace the Hi/Low module on the now out of warranty unit.

55 watt. Mis-matched lamps, bad ballasts, etc. But after looking at the stuff I realized its just the same cheap-ebay kits.

So some new guy questions please. Will I need to splice into any wires with this kit? Will I need to take my bumper off? what are the benefits of plug & play. and last Q what color are these lights?

No wire-splicing. I've already done that for you. You unplug your factory ballasts, and you plug this kit in. You'll be responsible for mounting the bulbs into the headlight housings (using the included adapters), and finding a place to mount the new ballasts. Some people just zip-tie them to the radiator core support. Others make mounting brackets.

The benefits of plug-and-play: You don't have to do any splicing or soldering. I've already done it for you. I use butt connectors to splice the wires together, and then flow solder into the connectors to solidify the joint. Then I heat-shrink it and cover it with TechFlex expandable sleeving for further protection. You can see it in the picture below.

You won't need to remove the bumper, but you will need to remove the headlight housings from the car. They're held in by 3 bolts underneath the hood, and 1 phillips-head screw on the outside, close to the fender.

I currently have a 55w 5000k kit in stock, but I can order whatever color you choose.

Here's a picture of the last batch of these that I made...

While you lighting guys are on here, what is a good fog light that I could put on my genII? I was thinking some of those low profile PIAA, but I have zero experience with fog lights for these cars. When cruising up the Columbia gorge or a morning coast run, the fog in Oregon can be sudden and terrifies my wife (I pretend it doesn't bother me). And, why no amber fogs anymore? In the old days, that was the go-to fog color. I had two 5 inchers on an old Hudson Hornet that worked great, but that is too big for what I have in mind for the Mark. Damn, 98linc, you do nice work. That looks factory. You got a fog light kit, or recommendation?

do you want a cosmetic light ( color for show ) or output ?

98linc you are thee man!!!! thank you for this information. I kinda had my heart set on blue but I also need them here asap. Would I be able to just change to blue in the future by simply screwing the blue bulb into the new setup?I would need a whole new kit Im assuming. And im 100% buying this btw.

Yes, once the kit is installed you can change the bulbs out seperately. 4k, 5k, 6k ect as long as it's a 9006 hid bulb.

Yep, you can just buy a new set of bulbs only. I think they're $12-$15.

Sorry, no real experience with fog lights on the Mark VIII's. :(
