I was on my way home from work last night, and I ended up smacking a large buck with my LS at about 65 mph. the deer actually flew over the top of the car, and ended up in the median. I was able to drive it home. It still drives straight down the road, and the radiator wasn't damaged. I had a guy that I know and owns a body shop look at it. He thinks its probably totaled. Now I have to deal with the insurance company, and see what they say.

Feel your pain. My wife and I hit a suicidal deer back in January. I got off better than you although I had to use used parts to keep my insurance from totaling the car. It took a recycled hood, passenger headlight assembly and the little cover over the hatch in the bumper as well as a cover/trim piece on top of the bumper you can't see when the hood is closed. One mounting tab was broken on the McLaren grille (try and get one of those) but the shop used some epoxy to repair that. Nothing that $2000.00 couldn't fix. I had to pay $500 of that as my deductible.

I feel ya....hit one a few months back, didn't do anything but scrap some paint off the mirror.

Got one yesterday with the Expy, broke my license plate bracket.

Never hit one that did a ton of damage.....yet.

seawolf18, sorry to see about your misfortune, hope the insurance is willing to work with you on it.

Stupid wildlife, don't they know there are only so many of these LS's made.

That should buff out.

Seriously tho...that sucks. It looks fixable but insurance will probly total the car.

Guess you could go ahead and do the angel eyes on that side since the assembly is open :D

What sucks right now is i'm sitting in a holding pattern, waiting for the insurance, sheriff's department to get the report done, etc. I did source some parts. I found a correct color hood, left headlight and fog light at a local wrecking yard. If they total it, i'm just going to patch it back together with junk yard parts and drive it. All the damage is cosmetic on the car, and The car is paid for.

Well, the insurance company got done doing its thing. $4,300 damage to the car, and they totaled it out. I bought it back, and with the deductable they cut me a check just shy of $4,000.00. I'm now on the hunt for a hood, headlight, and a bumper cover. A guy I work with used to work in a body shop in is younger days. He was able to bend the end of the fender back for me in the work parking lot. He also showed me how to get the radiator support back where its supposed to be.

A detailed write up, with step by step pics, of the repositioning of the radiator support would be cool. I do not think we have one done before.

I could do that when I find all the parts, and get ready to patch it back together.
