Oh my god people,
i finally got my Mark VIII,i am so freaking excited to pick it up,
i have been waiting so long,,

refresher:
i have had a 93 mark viii waiting at my dads house,it has a wrecked front end,but everything else is in good/great shape,i have been waiting for a mark needing an engine or trans. or whatever to pick up cheap and combine with the wrecked one to make one good mark,

i hope to pick it up this fri or sat.

i havent seen anything but a pic of it,but my dad has gone and seen it and payed the gentleman for me,

it is a 1995 white or cream?single owner ,very well maintained with 230,000 miles,he has driven since new for business, salesman, the engine recently developed a valvetrain noise at the right rear side of motor, and it idles rough, but the car is running/inspected,everything works on it,my dad says it has NO dents/dings. paint looks real good,
driver seat basically used up at this point ,but i have one from the wrecked 93.and the only other problem is a left rear shock thump...shock mount?
the air ride has been replaced, new alternator,
was asking $1000 ,got it for $800,what do you all think?

cant wait to get my hands on it....... :steering

Good deal, congrate man. :Beer

good choice. I own the same year and color. beware of the crappy headlights though. other than that...you'll have fun with the car.

Although I am not a fan of the 8, that is a nice looking car and its yours. Have fun and good luck...........Katz

nice!!!!!!!!! good deal, like that color, it's got a few mile on it but, hell, 800.00 can't beat that at all. some guys have all the luck!!!!!!!!!!! :Beer

thanks for the positive support guys.

i have a question for you guys have experience working on the mod motors.
i am thinking of firts seeing what is actually wrong witth the valve train before pulling the engine.what is likely making the knock/clatter at the top rear of the engine, would it be a "relatively" simple repair accessible only from the valve cover,or is that question too hard to answer without seeing/hearing the prob.
i ask because until this noise appeared the owner was using the car on a regular basis,it doesnt leak or burn any oil even with 230k on it,so if it could be fixed with a small amount of work,to maybe survive till a better time (like spring time)to swap engines,i would like doing that.even after the noise appeared the owner has continued to use it locally around his neighborhood, with no "apparent" bad effect....?

thanks,Mike

maybe you'll get lucky like we did. We found a 1995 Chamelon blue Mark VIII with 130k on the ticker. it had a mis-fire, and a noisy valve train. The rest of the car was near flawless, and loaded.

purpie1.jpg

we paid $1000 for it, and a few hours after getting it back to the shop, and one intake valve spring on #3 cylinder, the car purrs like a kitten.

No motor needed, no air ride parts needed, etc. just removal of the cam cover, some valve spring tools, and it was back to health.

either way...congrats...savor it. These cars are getting harder and harder to find in good shape.

Nice color, BTW. Looks like Ivory pearlescent(color code-HA)

Sounds like you got a hell of a deal. good luck with it.

Craig.....You keep waiving that damned 95 in my face. One day it may just end up missing. Look out.............................................:D
