I had work done on my car last weekend(coils, spark plugs and gasket) when I got my car back my horn didn't work. Has this happen to anybody else? Please help:Bang

Are the controls for the stereo on your steering wheel working ok? It could be the clock spring....

If you hit your remote panic button, does the horn sound? If not, then the problem is likely to be the horns themselves or the horn relay. If so, then that points more to the clockspring or horn switch.
Is you SRS light on?
Does your cruise control work?

Since you have an after market radio, take your car out for a drive and see if your cruise control works. If not then more than likely it's your clock spring.

when I push the panic button the horn still goes off but I haven't tried the cruise control yet

There are still a few things that it could be, and there are troubleshooting steps to determine what it is, however, the most common failure is the clockspring. It can be the clockspring even if the SRS and the cruise control are okay.

A vehicles most common problem no matter what the make. Its retarded to replace, especially on newer vehicles with all the electronic crap in em.

It took me and my uncle whos been a mopar mechanic for 18 years 1 1/2 hours to change one on a 2000 plymouth voyager.... and thats as basic as it gets

As for what it actually is, IDK, it affects anything related to the steering wheel itself usually

The clockspring for an 02 is 121.00 retail and LVC is 110.00 plus shipping. Gold members pay less.

I just got all that done to my 02 LS and my cruise control and horn dont work but the radio controls on the steering wheel still do. Also My horn alarm sounds. Im going to check into this clockspring buisness.

Ha, notice the pattern? Next both of you will be looking into ball joints and tie rods I guarantee!

Sooner or later your radio controls will start freaking out. You'll turn the volume down and the track will change and etc,.. etc,..

If it sounds when you lock the car, it's the clockspring. If not, might be the FEM (was damaged FEM wiring in the case of my 01LS).

clockspring

look at the first few threads in the LS forum, you will find a thread for the complete clockspring replacement. It takes about an hour including coffee break to replace it. Just take your time.
