I've been looking to buy some rims to put on the LS for quite some time now {Since i was 15}. At first i wanted 22's but then soon thought to myself that they would rub and be a tough ride, so i decided 20's would be good enough. But i was browsing craigslist yesterday and stumbled upon some nice 22's for dirt cheap {$500$} and i think i'm sold for them...what do you guys think?

ps ...i already know you guys dread 22's on our lincoln but jus give me any feedback...thanx in advance

Those must weigh 100 pounds each. that will require a username change to "slowls"

Regardless of size I veto.

Its the same old same old cookie cutter style wheel IMO.

Maybe if they were a different finish but a full faced wheel like that looks out of place unless the cars are slammed. I have seen that done on 22's with other cars but it was a challnge from what I gathered.

Not a fan, I'd actually rather see you go with those spoked wheels. Those are just too big and blocky, won't accent the car at all.

theyll look good if you can manage to drop the suspension or kit it up a bit, and also they will look good if they dont cause you to crash your car and kill yourself.....I almost some 20's like that from d'vinci....i do warn you though used 22's for 500 bucks could possibly spell trouble with cracking and worn out rubber

Size is all in opinion. I wanted to do the same but IMO 22's are too big for the LS. Its not a 300C where 24's do look good. As far as style, NO! Looks like your trying too hard.

22's On the LS will more and likely destroy your tranny, 20's would be alot better. Plus the lift kit cost for the 22's, compared to spacers that also ruin's your suspension. You can always find a good deal on 20's at that.

I know it may sound like a good deal but like some of the members said, they are just to plain looking. Where I'm from we call rims like that face rims because most of the rim is solid. A lot of people buy bigger rims and put on cars and most of them look like that because I guess it shows off a lot of chrome. I must agree that a split type design is killer on the LS. Trust me go with 20s and with the proper offset and a good tire, it will look bitching. Just my opinion. To me the LS doesn't have the wide and long body stance for 22s like a 7 series bimmer has or some of the other bigger cars. You don't want your car looking like a donk. You want you car to stay symmetrical meaning you want the wheels to flow with the body and lines of the car.

full face chrome rims do not look good on the LS mine are split but u can get a pretty good example off of mine. they look GREAT moving and wen they are clean. .but i hate the way they look on my LS. they came off my 2004 chrysler concorde check it out

but if ur gonna try and use those 22''s make sure they are the right offset. or ur asking for rubbing.. because i get rub out of my 20''s due to the wrong offset.. but im going to agree on the used wheels have u looked at dents and all that? i am also looking into some 22''s for my car. alloy with a polished or chrome lip. since my car is silver the alloy look will look almost color matched..
but make sure u get 245/30/22 tires. but to be safe u should run 235/30/22.

but good luck with ur car. check out my car domain page in my signature.

there's a guy i work with who just bought a 85 cutlas and hes putting a lift kit and 22's on it. you should see how much crap he gets for it, but if its what makes you happy.

okay a small update...
the guy sold them already for 480$...he said he needed the money real bad so i guess its good news, kinda happy too.

thanx lvc for not letting me make a f'd up decision...

What's your budget? We can help you pick out some other wheels.

Yes full faced wheels look really good on the LS if they are the right look. Also with this size if the car is not lowered it gives that ugly half donked look along with the need for rubber band like tires.

If I were to do a wheel like this it would be 19" tops brushed or just polished,... maybe powder coated a hyper silver like mine or similar color but I would definitely get some tuck on those tires. IMO!

Like KD said, let us know what your price range is and quite a few people could help out.

That link says that the wheels they sell should only be on FWD cars.

Why would you put those wheels on FWD cars? I remember back in the mid 90's I was visiting relatives in Texas and the in thing was Corollas and Honda's with 15" wires that stuck out about 3+"'s and cloth roofs. It was kind of a Import take off of the true Low rider. One OTHER bad thing about the look was the cars all sat at factory ride hight with these stretched whitewalls that had huge sidewalls!!!!

Are they trying to bring that look back or something?

I dont think fwd or rwd setup matters. What matters is the offset, backspacing and size. I'm not sure why they do that, I could be wrong.

It was odd to me when I saw that.

Our offset is high like a FWD anyway not?......hmmmm.
