Search Jacumba Illegal crossings, then click on Sky News Australia for a video. But your mindset probably will not believe what you see, since it does not fit your narrative. BTW, I travel occasionally on I8 to San Diego, which dips down to the northern edge of Jacumba. Easy to spot the piles of garbage and mini campsites these FAMs leave on their journey.
Yuma County supervisor revealed plans for DHS to construct a 100,000 sq ft "permanent" migrant processing center in Yuma. Supervisor pleaded for them to do it somewhere outside the city, but he was turned down. He said that there would be negative consequences to the city because of this and degrade the quality of life there. Biden Administration does not care.

The big sticking point is the number of illegal crossings that will be allowed before the "shutdown" will initiate. Do we really need 5000 more a day to get in??? The cartels, who control the border flow, will keep the daily number below the magic number of 5000, so nothing would really change. Business as usual. Why not close the border to start with and then come up with a realistic compromise. 150,000 more per month is insane! We do not know who these people are, if they are carrying any diseases, or if they have nefarious intentions here. Ask the residents of New York, Chicago or Denver if they want more in their city. So I ask again- do we need to keep letting just under 5000 more illegals a day in, given the already huge number already here? Spend the money on citizens of this country rather than illegal immigrants. There are many citizens in the inner cities who deserve it rather than them.

Republicans got the majority of what they said they previously wanted in the Border Bill (bill does more than that), so why are they playing more games and not passing it now? The sooner it passes, the sooner the flow can be plugged. If Biden were to fail after it passes, they can attack him on that too. So why?
Because Republicans want those 5,000+ a day to come in. Illegal immigrants make their wealthy friends in farming, textile, construction etc., wealthier and they're a good club to use against a sitting Democratic President, especially in an election year. eg Look how you react to news of illegal immigrants
If Republicans were ever actually serious about stopping the majority of illegal immigrant they would go after the people who hire the largest numbers of illegals and fine and jail the employers, but those people are some of the Rights biggest donors. It's a basic supply and demand type of issue, those jobs dry up, so does illegal immigration in step. I highly suspect you're well aware of this as it's right in everyone's face, but you'll never admit it due to cowardice and intellectual dishonesty.

Is it true that Biden used his phone and pen to basically open the border on day 1? Why does he need new legislation when he still has those tools? He also has the laws already existing to do it. Maybe because he wants to avoid being the "bad guy" doing this in an election year. He would rather have congress get involved so they can be the bad guys for not giving him the legislation he "needs" to do it, finally realizing that after 3 years of this invasion it is a liability to his presidency. This bill was crap and gave tons of money to those infamous NGO's and set aside tons of money for lawyers to "aid" the illegals. It also had really fuzzy math regarding the magic 5000 per day joke, as it had some "carveouts" as to who would count against this number. Why do we need to pay countries to "resettle" people we send back? Your blind support of this bill and fierce attacks on anyone criticizing it show just what a political hack you can be. You throw in the "cowardice" insult, which is funny since you are probably have never raised your right hand and volunteered to serve your country, like many political hacks currently serving on both sides of the aisle.

In fact you counter your previous statement. My original point was that the U.S. (predominantly) lost good paying UAW jobs while Obama was in office. I.E. ... the economy was already starting to slow down.
Again... Obama's "cash for clunkers" program didn't have the impact everyone thought it would.
It sent perfectly good vehicles to the scrapyard. Making newer vehicles unaffordable to people that had lower incomes.
That program "trashed" good running vehicles. Basically... They put an abrasive in the engines and ran them... to seize up the engines.
You forget that back then... that I was working at UAW plants at the time.
