hey lvc, new to the site and fords in general, i found this 2002 LS v8 with 28,000 miles yes under 30k for 1500 bucks has a salvaged title it was t boned, and fixed and i nearly can not see any of the old damage, it did have bags pop, so the car was all fixed, is 1500 bucks a good price? it needs tires and a alighnment. paints not perfect (its sat 4 years after it was fixed) snow caved in the roof this winter so paint cracked, so will need paint touch up to be perfect, other than that it looks and drives like a 30k car, is it worth $1500

something doesn't add up here, a car that has been in any accident would have had way more than 1500 dumped into it to have it repaired. hell just one airbag will cost 1500, especially if it is a seat side air bag

if the car is as good as you say it is, then yes that is a hell of a deal.

1500 for a seat airbag?!?!?! I have one sitting on my workbench in the garage out of a junkyard seat, still sealed. wow. Time to ebay (is it even legal to sell used airbags??)

sounds fishey to me since it was t boned and it now needs an allignment and tires. sounds to me like the car isnt fixed properly. then you say snow caved in the roof? and craked the paint? i for one have never in my life heard of snow caving in a roof on a car and if it craked it sounds like ther is some mud on the roof. then you say its sat for 4 years after being fixed? why? that alone throws up a red flag. personally id pass on the deal.

They probably fixed it had it aligned and got new tires but the whole car is still off. Check the tires on the car to see if they're worn oddly. They were probably driving it but saw the tires wore unevenly, so they just let it sit and are now trying to get rid of it. Honestly I'd pass.

Salvaged titles are always a pass in my book. Unless you have multiple vehicles and wouldn't need to rely on it.

With less than 30k miles, I think it's a good deal. See if you can get the price down even more

something doesn't add up here, seems to good to be true and why would you let it sit for years after putting money into fixing it. Seems to me they are just selling it cheap to put the headache on someone else. But who knows, maybe you came across a good deal but have it checked out better.

I don't know if anyone would agree, but for $1500 could he buy it and sell parts off of it and eventually make a profit off of it? That's the only reason I'd buy it if it seems like a plausible thing to do.

Just to let you guys know I bought my LS 6 years and 110K ago with a salvage title. It was repaired right with the exception of some paint defects. When I bought it though the KBB was 26K and I paid 12K for it. Hopefully the roof "cave in" isint really accident damage. The entire roof of my car was replaced when it was repaired.

Salvage cars are (sometimes) OK. I've seen a couple with great repairs but, plan on keeping it for life. Most likely some quirkier problems than most LSs have already.

+1
if its going to be your daily driver. i'd pass. 4 years is a long time for it to sit outside. with the work you'll need to put into it. i'd find a higher mileage one somewhere else.
30K or not, its still a almost 10year old car. if it sat for 4 years. that means it only got 5k miles a year before that. not alot, then it sat (not driving it and letting it sit outside can do as much damage if not more as driving it)... part it, or pass. plenty of 02's out there for under $5,000. if thats to much, then u probably dont want to by an LS anyways do the the extensive repairs you might encounter.

let us know.

salvage cars (if repaired propperly) are great for projects when your pretty much going to gut/chop/or modify the hell out of it, or just use as a beater car.

well if your seat bag blows, you usually need to replace the entire seat, it rips right out the side of the seat.

hell i would probably buy it anyway for that price, and just buy another decent one and keep the junker for parts when the good one has something that breaks.

disfunctional , give me about a month and I'll be posting some pics. Right now I'm working on doing the angel eyes and I'll be adding exhaust cut outs and color matching the side skirts, rear bumper lip, front grille and rear surround within a few weeks. Oh, and I need to throw some eibachs on yet.

I got a 2002 LSV8 with 42k miles salvage for $3800
