i dont understand how you guys where able to get these bushings off and replace them with the energy suspension ones. i had it on a lift and could not get any tools in there

wtf am i doing wrong?????????

I bought the sway bar bushings to replace mine too. Took the front two wheels off, had it jacked up, took out all the air box components, and still couldn't figure out how to get to the passenger side. I figured it would be possible to do the left, but not possible to do the right. I put everything back and figured I will have someone install them for me when I get extra cash. I thought it would be an easy fix for the crappy front end noise, but it turns out it was too much. Maybe if I had better tools like a lift and a better socket set with angled sockets and what not it would be easier. Good Luck.

i had the right tools, and a lift however my time was limited. but messin around with it for hour or so i was not able to full get them off and had a hell of a time getting the two rear bolts back on

Does anyone have an idea what labor cost would be if you brought the bushings in and just had them install them?

Slow_5spd, where did you get the yellow high beam bulbs? Those look like the yellow fog lights on an old Mercedes.

I can't help you with the bushings, I'll be in the same boat soon though. Mine have made a few crunchy sounds pulling out of my driveway the past few days. Ill probably get under the car and hit them with some high temp spray grease for the time being.

02V8Sport just did that swap, I bet he could tell you how to get them off.

the high beam bulbs are nokya 2300k 9005s. i had them in my fog light and they were way too bright, the local cops didnt like that. i switched them into my hugh beams and they work great when on.

Sorry to post on something old, but getting to the bushings is a little tricky. I've had my car for about 70,000 (it's got 122,000 now) and I've done these twice. The passenger side isn't bad if you put the car on jack stands, and do some of the work (rearward bolt) from the back, and remove the frontward bolt from the top. I used a universal with some long extensions. Total job time was about 2 hours for both sides. PM me if you'd like more detail.

Drivers side:
Top bolt you can get by removing your intake and using a long socket 13mm.

Bottom bolt use a 13mm ratcheting closed end wrench from the bottom of the car.

Passanger side:
Top bolt use the 13mm long socket with ratchet and get to it fromt he bottom of the car.

Bottom bolt use a 13mm ratcheting closed end wrench from the bottom of the car.

I didn't think it would be honestly that hard. I wanna do mine when I put in some springs so this is good to know.

I have those yellow fogs, I wanna get them in HID after I do my low beams. Those cops shouldn't mess with you allot of Lexus's and others come with ones just as bright. I would have stuck it to them on hat one. I got harassed once by the township police next door but in the end there wasn't anything they could do except keep me on profile for the fact that I simply won.

I guess the laws in your state may differ but like I said alot of cars do come fatory with them regardless.

When my bushings went bad, they had to replace the entire swaybar. Said Ford didnt have any part numbers for bushings themselves as they were permanently attached. New swaybar was like $170 from Ford, and I believe they were specd at 1.5hrs labor.

Had a clunk in the front end when you would go over sharp bumps like in a parking lot at slow speeds. We replaced ball joints, sway bar links, then finally the sway bar itself. After 2 days and a $1700 bill later, no more clunk. Thanks to my extended warranty, it cost me $50. ;)

That's correct; the revised swaybar and bushing are bonded, so there are no longer separate parts available from Ford/Lincoln. That's also why the revised sway bars are thinner.

Do they squeak? Poly has a tendancy to squeak when its in torsion since it binds and chatters on the bar?

Hey DunItRight..............when you do yours let me know, I'll drive up to Allentown and you can do mine too!:wrench
