how to get in the 13's

oh ya i forgot the pullys, my car blew the trans right after i installed them sorry, also the trans go is not a go faster mod it is made to help the trans from slipping and also and little harder shifts

also when my 3500 stall gets here I will get a dyno tune and hope to be in 13s

actually it does help the car go faster because you don't have as much lag inbetween shifts

ya if your tran slips like a mofo, mine it didnt make a diff in the 1/4 but it shifts fast and firm

not a matter of slipping, the computers and trannys are set up in lincolns so that you can't feel the shift causing the delay, I think this mostly applies to the Gen2's because I know my Gen1 shifts a lot better than my Gen2.

what does the 3500 stall speed torque converter do for you? and what are the effects of this mod drag and normal driving? and also I hear alot about higher gear ratios but wont that kill your gas mileage? and crunch your topend? I mean all I hear about is the 1/4 mile but im in arizona where topend is a key and thats where marks really shine Ive wasted alot of cars with a stock mark because they had no topend so let me know maybe these mods help there to let me know?

well, Im for the super quick 0-60, which I cant wait to measure when I get the stall in. My gas milage is still 26mpg on the highway and 16 around town but with the stall I assume it will go down but I dont care. the stall well its like having a clutch almost. When you floor it you will leave the lline a 1200-1600, now with the high stall I will be blazing the tires up at 3200-3500 of the line

I get 19/23 mpg(city/highway) on my '93 in the hilly terrain I drive in. The gears/converter are more for acceleration than top end.

Torque convertor gets the RPM higher before launch. This gets you into the higher torque range of the engine. Gears do the same thing but give you more torque over the entire range. A torque convertor should not affect your highway milage but the gears will drop you a mpg or two depending on how high you take it. I like my 3.73's, because I drive the highway alot. Others like the 4.10's for a bit more umph.

I'm almost to the 13's, I've had a run or two in the 13's but only when it's cool outside.

I have:
'93 Mark VIII
3.73's
Dual 2 1/2 exhaust
Steeda Cobra timing adjuster
upgraded tranny w/ tranny cooler (a must for racing)
homemade cold air intake

I plan to put on the Steeda Cobra pulleys and I'll be running 13's everyday.

After that I would suggest a ported upper intake as it makes a big difference and a good tune.

I don't have the tune, port job, or the pulleys so 13's are easy...
