take off the lower control arm, careful with the spring use a jack to relieve the pressure. then take that to your local auto repair shop you trust and have them press out and in your ball joints. then put the arm back on and get the rental tool from o-Riley made 4 that kind of spring "compressor" from the inside. then reassemble.
I replaced mine. Leave the lower control arm on the car. The shock is removed only. Rent the tool from Autozone or similar. It is jest a press fitting. I will try to find a link to step-by-step instructions, but it really is not a big job.
