I just got my 2000 V8 LS back from the dealership. They had my car since last Wednesday at 1:30 PM and I have it back after 6 days. I ended up spending a $200 deductible plus $140 in extra costs that the warrenty wouldn't accept. Here is the rundown of work done...

I know absolutely nothing about cars except for what I learn on here...
MY QUESTION IS- SHOULD I CONTINUE TO USE THIS DEALERSHIP OR FIND SOMEONE ELSE CERTIFIED FROM NOW ON???

That's roughly what I was billed here in FL, but I didn't have a warranty. People who use local mechanics will tell you that you got ripped off, but whenever you try to sell the LS - you'll have a dealership logo on the invoice. Plus, you don't have to worry about paying for those parts messing up for at least 12 months.

How did the Svc person treat you? Did they tell you one thing and did something else?

From reading this forum and personal experience, it seems like the most expensive repair under 100k miles is out of the way. Next up will be your catalytic converters (~$200).

Back to your question, your dealership seems to have done the exact same thing as all Lincoln dealerships do, what it comes down to is how you were treated.

Other than the long wait the dealership was better than most I have dealt with. I had to have them change what I was quoted and my final bill- which eventually they changed and I had to call them for any information about my car. Other than that it was decent.

I would say there's no way in hell you really needed all 8 coils. However, the dealership could have done that to ensure the problem was fixed all at once and you didn't have to come back if they missed a bad one.

I'd just smile and be happy I had the warranty and not worry about it. I don't see anything egregiously wrong with the bill.
