I got pulled over...

Can't our "Serve and Protect" resources be used more efficiently and effectively? I hate the camera ticket deal (especially since the maker/supplier of the cameras get a cut of the ticket), BUT, it does free up a few SnP guys to actually do that, Serve and PROTECT.

Our SnP guys could be sooo much better utilized, robberies, rapes, drugs, missing children, child molester's freely roam the streets....but bet your sweet wheels you'll be paying out the *** if going 10 miles over the speed limit. Even at 10 over grannie is flying by me flippin me the bird (tint does have it's advantages, I was sooo embarrassed)!!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMIN'S HOTTIES, and don't go freakin out saying that "cops are need on the freeway", of course they are, but the asinine charges and car profiling, makes the $ conclusion crystal clear.

ok, off my soapbox....NEXT.

Smooch!

Sometimes the state troopers in my state will have a campaign of "enhanced enforcement". Usually this happens on a Thursday or Friday prior to a 3-day weekend. They simply enforce the law more strictly, so if you're going 68 in a 65, you'll get a ticket. There's one guy with the laser who clocks you, then he radios to his buddies up ahead, where they pull you over.

I think there are also motivations from state budgets. After all, collecting more money in ticket fines is a plus for state revenue.

I think we all agree that getting caught is a big hassle, but that's exactly what it is - getting caught. I've been lucky so far, but I try to keep everything fairly legal, because I've had tuner cars before and I know they're just waiting for me to do something wrong because they've got nothing otherwise. Front tint isn't legal up here either - but some cops will go so far as to scratch at your tint with a pen knife so that you have to take it off. And then they end up scratching the glass too and you can't say anything about it or they won't even let you drive away. I think it's just luck of the draw. Sometimes they're just having a bad day, or you did something to upset them, or they could even be jealous that they don't have a car like you do. I have yet to find a good way around it though.

As for speeding tickets, I don't know how it works down here, but I've heard that up here if you take it to court and say that somebody was passing you while they hit you with the radar then it'll get thrown out. Just fight it regardless and they might reduce it at least. Well that's my rant for now.

My friend had an 03 cobra comign across the mobile bayway at about 120 at 2 in the morning and he passed the only car on there. They called the cops on him. He was sitting in waffle house eating and the cop comes in and gives him a wreckless driving and a DUI.

How is the officer going to testify that your friend was operating the vehicle? He can't use what someone told him (hearsay). He did not see the offense. He did not even see the car on the road. Any competent attorney would get the citation dismissed without even going to trial. Anyone could have been driving. Sounds like an urban legend to me.:)

Yea the cops that got me couldn't do anything. They even said that I was lucky they didn't see me otherwise I'd be getting a wreckless/exhibition driving ticket. If you fight that in court the cop WILL NOT show up and you WILL have the charge dropped. It happened to my buddy in his 5.0 stang when he got a ticket in the mail for wreckless driving (cop in a gas station watched him do a burnout 'round a corner but was too lazy to jump out and chase 'em) and he went to court, the cop didn't show and he got it dropped.

I take my LS to the races every weekend, for the most part ANYONE who gets pulled over gets tagged and towed immediatly. When I got pulled last weekend the cop told me the only reason he pulled me over was becuase it looked like I was trying to get away the fastest. Otherwise he said if I just sat there he wouldn't have done anything. I ended up not getting any ticket, the cop even said that they don't really care about the street racing until people start calling on us. Haters. Anyways, I know its probably not the best idea to race my beloved LS but I only get to do it 4-5 months out of the year and I can't help but show it off. In fact I've NEVER EVER seen another LS anywhere near the races or anywhere near where people show off their cars period! Maybe its because I live in MN, is there anyone else who hits up street races with their LS on here?
