I have Light engine noise (With video)

That sounds great, but I have a 95 :(. Sorry my post earlier was misleading, I was in a rush to work.

Not your fault at all Don. I'm the idiot that should have known that simply by the thumbnail to your video seen above. :rolleyes:

Just use my last sentence above and disregard the rest.:rolleyes: And please let us know what the mechanic finds out!

Bringing this thread back from the dead. After 2 months of trying to pinpoint this noise, it's still there. I've got it look at by two mechanics. One said it was the torque converter ticking, and the other said it could be the Crankshaft pulley making that noise because it was wobbling a little. I don't believe either. So I'm posting up better videos of the noise, to see if you guys can help. I think it's the timing chain tensioner, but i'm not sure. Do you guys think it's a noise that I should worry about

This video is of the noise. I started the car cold from sitting 16 hours.

slap

sounds like timing chain slap. I would say.

Sounds like cam chain - it's half time so that would dictate cam area - i did hear something like this before in old 460s - was broken piston skirts - would slap when it fired - bad at cold idle - no so bad when warmed up - couldn't hear it revved up. i bet i seen 40 broken skirts on them old 460s that would run forever - one side would crack plum through - other side wouldn't - there was a window behind the oil ring ,, skirt just held on from both sides of the window - very little holding them on.
But ive never herd of a skirt broken on a mod motor.

The noise stays the same no matter how hot or how cold. It did quiet down slightly after an oil change for a little while, but it now back the same as when I bought it.

Do you think this sound is something I should be majorly worried about, and be urgently fixed.

That squealing is definetly coming from the pulley system because when it rained today, it got worse. So I am going to take the belt off and find the problem tomorrow.

As far as the noise, it's wierd because it doesnt affected anything at all. I idle a little rough in park, but it gear it's smooth as silk

Holy :q:q:q:q that thing got a hemi!

@Jack_sun

LOL

The noise seems louder when I'm inside the cabin then when I'm outside the car. I'm going to trying to get a mechanics stetescope today to see.
