I was driving home from work, and a deer just darted out in front of me. I clipped the back of it, and it rolled up on my hood. I hit the brakes, and it slid off rolled around on the ground and took off into the woods. I'm actually glad I was driving my Lincoln, I think if I had anything higher off the ground I would have done some damage to my car and the deer. As it is, there was no damage to the car not even a scratch.

You are lucky, I have hit 2 deer and the damage to both vehicles was not good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry to hear that. I know I'm very lucky. I've heard some horror stories about people hitting deer and moose. I can't believe there was no damage. I pulled over and was waiting to see at least my hood dented in, but nothing happened at all.

consider yourself lucky, i hit one deer in my 93 diamante going 40 and caused 1500 and then i hit one with my 96 exploder and it caused over 2k worth of damage. bad luck huh. someone said lighting only strikes the same place once, y cant that be the case for deers, once u hit one your done.

got lots of them bambi's around here... funny thing is, I never see one near road when I am driving, but everyone else does! They must hate the sound of my cars!

But, your lucky.. usually a deer strike is expensive...

FAther-in-law hit one with his early 90's ranger... insurance totalled it, (gave him like 2400 for it), he bought it for a couple hundred back... spent a couple hundred at the local yard (he knows owner), and got front end back together.. not perfect, but functional.

I saw it coming out of the woods out of the corner of my eye, and I hit the brakes. I think I caught it in mid-jump, because it slid right up on the hood. It scared the life out of me when I saw it. It was the first time I've ever hit anything, so I was freaked out afterwards. Guess I really am lucky after hearing some of the stories you guys are telling. It will be a while before I go that way through the hills on my way home from work again.

OMG The Lincoln Must have a deer magnet on it ....Thank good nothing was bad ....I think Lincoln Should include these on all there vehicles.....http://www.sav-a-life.com/Deeralert_intro.htm

As much as I would like to believe they work, they don't. Once a deer starts going its not going to stop until you hit it. Once a deer sees your headlights it will stop and stare into them because they don't have very good eyes and if its crossing infront of you then just be ready to see a deer go flying into the ditch. I have hit one deer and almost came close to hitting several the most recent was on Friday night where there were two hanging out along the shoulder at night. I lost my breath and braced for the worst when my headlights lite them up.
I would take a close look at your front end again to make sure there is nothing wrong.

I checked twice last night and once this morning, and there was no damage at all. Most I did was wear out the brake pads a little more from slamming on the brakes. The more I talk to people about it, the luckier I feel.

Be grateful you're ok, and so is your lincoln.. It's been since November 5th that I hit a deer doing 70 at midnight... You can see the damage *6k* in my sig... I still don't have my car yet either =/

Where I live one never questions if they will hit a deer they question when!

The thread link is from when I hit a deer with my 94 Mark VIII now owned by Scott9050.

What you see there is $2800 of deer damage... Enough to cover the cost of the car and get a my 95 Mark VIII.

Also I hit the deer the day I brought the 94 back home.

Now it's on it's way to be the fastest Stock Mark VIII - read Scott's threads...

Amazing you got no damage. I hit a small one a few years back and did loads of damage to my Mark VII. I spent $ 1000 on parts alone and fixed it myself. I luckily found a same color junked car.
