Well, I had my alternator rebuilt back in the summer and it recently went bad. IMO, from the start the alt. seemed very weak, you would have to rev to get the interior lights to light up to their full potential. Does anybody know of a place where I can get a new alternator, or possibly an online source.

Any help would be appreciated....
Thanks

partsamerica.com - Palladium P777316G. It's what i have in my car. lifetime warranty.

I see you're local ... too bad I just sold a brand new take off for $100.
eh, what can yah do? I might be able to get this one repaired for little or no money. Its reading about 13v at idle.

See 67Conti's post... the Palladium works great and it's an upgrade over the stocker... mine's been working like a champ for months.

these alternators are great

try db electrical, found this guy on ebay and got a 170amp alt. for $149.95 and he shipped it in 2 days, installed it and it works like a champ, headlights are brighter and i have no problems since.... heres the guys info

Quick little question? What kind of amperage do mach 1 alt. pull? My dad's friend hooked me up with one with 3k miles on it.

It's probably a 130 amp unit if it's a stocker. Your stock wiring should handle the extra 10 amps, but life has no guarantees.

I'm not sure if your wiring harness has the same style plug, though.

If it does, and you do hook it up, keep an eye on the alternator wire for any signs of overheating (browning, blackening, bubbles, etc) after a few days of use to make sure you're not going to burn anything.

I replaced my alt with the Palladium and it's rated at 130 amps. The stock Mark alt is a 120 amp unit.

I think the Mach 1 has the 6G alternator, which has better low RPM amperage generating capability.
