And bought a new car! err Truck I should say!

Instead of potentially wrecking the Mark again in but in the winter, I went ahead and bought a sure-footed vehicle that I fell in love with the moment I saw it.

The new toy is a 2004 Ford Ranger FX4 Level II... black with black interior w/red seat inserts, and the awesome looking Alcoa wheels wrapped in BFG A/T's... skid plates, 4.10 gears... the whole nine yards!!

Oh, this is also my new excuse to soup up the Mark when it's back in action! :D

I'll try to post them up tonight... It's sooo new I havent took a single pic of it yet... Just got the truck last night

Nice, Grats! Sounds like a lot of fun for winter driving!:xmas:

Nice! My last Ranger was a custom ordered green FX4 with the 4.0 SOHC, 4.10s and the 5 speed auto. Was a great little truck and suprisingly quick. :)

If you don't mine me asking, what kind of deal did you get?

Ohh... I don't recall what the price was now, it was 11-something...

I was looking at a BASE 4x4 for the same price and I couldnt get them to go down on it much, the guys at EA Motorsports did a real good job of working with me on it and got the monthly payments down to where I could afford them.

Truck only has 59K on it... I have NEVER owned anything this NICE... NEW... AND UNDER 100K!!!

I checked it out on the internet, the FX4 Level 2 came with the Alcoa's, 31" BFG's, heavier sway bars, Bilstein shocks, 4.10 gears, tow package with hitch, tow hooks in front, bedliner, factory lift, bucket seats w/ center console... and it has a CD/cassette player...

This truck is gorgeous. I am very happy with my purchase. Every other truck I looked at needed SOMETHING... this truck needed NOTHING...

Oh and it will pass everything but a gas station!!

Everywhere I read on the net said it had a "Torsen" differential... That might explain the strange movement I feel as I take off, must be the diff locking

thats the name of it

it could be, there was a tsb on some year rangers, dunno if yours is affected, for the slip yolk in the rear drive shaft getting a little loose. take it back to where you got it, or your preferred shop, and have them take a look at it

That movement is the axle moving. Ranger 4x4s all seem to do it. Its as if the axle moves back a half inch when starting off from a dead stop. It feels like that because it is moving. Its the shackles i think.

Check to make sure the tread on the tires is the same in the back. If you have mismatched tread (one with more than the other) in the back your binding it up on take off, not good. Their should be no axle twist at all taking off in that truck. Check your tires, leafs, and shackles. Somethings lose or not right.

Rule of thumb for 4x4's with locking rear ends. If you have half tread left and you replace one tire, they must both go to the front and the new one must stay in the front. or you buy a new pair all together. If you drive in 4 wheel alot (wet/snow pavement) you should replace all four tires. mismatched tires will wear a limited slip/locker right out. A good locker will ruin shackles, leafs, and tires with mismatched tires.

I ruined a wrangler mtr on my truck, had to buy 4 new one to replace one bad one because of my eaton true tracs.

Beautiful truck by the way, you should have alot of fun in that, check out some wrangler mtr's when you wear those tires out.

Sexy ranger man! (I'm just reccomendin, not bein a dick lol) Do your self a favor, first either do a Torsion Twist to bring your front end a lil bit more or get some coil spacers, and after those BFG's are done, which shouldnt take long, look into Federal Couragia M/T's youll get a good 40k out of them and they BITE HARD!! and have a sexy lug onem too and the best part..... they are better AND cheaper then BFG's.... heres a pic of mine... in person they are gorgeous

Yep, that's exactly it... Only other car I've driven with leaf springs is my Mustang II...

Yes I agree. If I had a ranger I would plunge it too. And use the insurance money to buy a real truck.

Hi guy, uhh how bout you do us all a favor and STFU!!

k, thanks!

It's been wayyy too cold the past couple days to jack up the torsion bars here in Ohio... I do plan to do that though.. I like the rake it has, but it's a truck not a muscle car...

I'll have to look into those tires when mine are shot...

I wanna drive it through a mud puddle sooo bad but they are all frozen!!
