Ok, i want some hid's on my car, i think it will give my car a better look. Instead of buying te conversion kit, can I buy factory HID light assembly and put them on my car?
Ric said:I have an '03 with HID's and I'm always worried about them getting stolen. It's turned into a real epidemic in NJ. I never feel right leaving my car parked anymore. For the small increase in visibility and the larger risk of damage from thieves, they're not worth it and my next car won't have them.

Just my opinion.

Can never be sure, but removing the headlights units from an LS although a simple job, is not easily done on the street or in a parking lot. Too much stuff must be removed to get at them and the hood must be up.Ric said:...prolly not stolen. I'm sure the owner simply removed them because he wanted to downgrade to standard headlights. Buy them...put them in...you prolly won't get them stolen too...the cycle continues.

Just added OEM HIDs to my ride a few months ago. Not a big deal, just have to remove the upper and lower black covers that are under the hood. Two fasteners are a little hard to get to if you drop them (on both sides toward the outside of the car). The rest are easily visible. Also the job goes easier if you loosen the fasteners that are the next ones inboard from the ones that hold the units solid. After that it is just unplug the original units and plug in the HIDs. (Assuming you have a 03+ LS) Older models need a heavier plug and wires.Deliciousdaly said:well would installing the OEM HID;s be a pain? I mean i cant see someone stealing my headlights over taking out a window and stealing everything that i have in my car. I think hids make a car a car.
