that 93 bird musta had a hard life, they are just as solid as a markBut it was a rattletrap. Everything inside rattled and squeaked all the time. It drove me nuts. The TC's were solid, quiet, and rattle free the whole time I had them. When I got rid of the '93 Bird and got my 70K mile '96 Mark VIII back in 2000, it was like a different world. No rattles. No squeaks. And faaaaast. I'm a happy camper. It's hard to believe the two cars were based on the same platform, for the most part.
i said mer-kour. my high school auto shop teacher had 2, needed one to keep the other running lolmost of the people i talked to that had them said merkr...and got miffy when i corrected them
didja ever check out the 3 inch round tube rear subframe, it was neat stuff

I dunno what that whole 'XR...' means - probably just a fancy jumble of letters. In the Euro market we had various 'XR' models which were performance orientated regular Fords. (Ford Fiesta XR2 and XR2i, Ford Escort XR3 and XR3i and Ford Sierra XR4i and XR4x4 (although those had 2.8 Cologne V6 engines) Then we had even higher performance models with 'RS' (Rallye Sport?) in the jumble.
