Air tube smoothed and plugs ready to go
001_zps1dacb8e2.jpg

Snorkle tossed
025_zps222ea74e.jpg

COP valve cover in Pass side. No need to pull engine mount bolt just jack up engine as high as it will go and remove FP reg to pull VC.
005_zps322cfa9b.jpg

Drivers VC little harder. Engine mount bolt has to come out jack engine up. The stock VC will come out but to install COP VC had to unbolt master cyl and push to fender to squeeze in.
007_zps996d73f2.jpg

These get removed from front of engine when switching to COPS
003_zpsf54a8635.jpg

Nice new Fuel filter. Man the old one stank.

Need to take break BRB

Wow well done! I was gonna suggest taking the cobra emblems off the door pillar..looked tacky. Deffinetly got the ball a rolling on that thing, lookin forward to seeing those pics! What's up with the head gasket problem? Any issues with overheating since ya got it? Also why 3:31 gears..will there really be much of a noticable difference between the stock 3:08?

I don't want this car crazy yet. Throwing in the posi main thing the 3.31's are just a little bonus cuz I have them here free.

On to Brakes
Front Stock and ugly

Recall harness

Mounted, lets try not to catch on fire
016_zps27270fbf.jpg

Here are the front caliper copper washers I like to make up
026_zpsa51d111d.jpg

To sensor lower I turn down the OD of front ballstuds and grind out the mount all the way up. This makes the ballstud mount as high as it can in stock mount bracket. I like this lowered height. Here you can see turn dia and the ballstud I had to make.
004_zpsd5918671.jpg

Added a pair of tight non ripped boots swaybar end links.
003_zps36517922.jpg

Also remember I had to do almost all these steps times TWO. If I was swapping locks I had to take out of red and silver car and put back into red and silver car. So it was like really 80 things I did. LOL

It's about a car length. I raced my 97 Base with 170K vs 98 LSC with 79K. It put about 3/4 of car length on me from 10 MPH but I reeled it in with 3/4 of car lead at 100 MPH. I am probably going to go with the same route as ROTM. Which car did you get the rear end from ROTM. Or did you have to build it yourself?

The 6.50 oil change is because I only had to buy ONE qrt. My uncle has me change his oil and it only takes 4 qrts. I get the 1 extra qrt every time. I have saved 5 qrts up for free. The oil filter(3.50) was free from bringing in the dead battery out of the car and getting 5 dollars for it. You could really say it was a 5 dollar oil change. LOL I could have got a cheap autozone belt for 22 but I wanted a better Dayco for her so I went nuts for 29.97.

I will be building Ice's rear end. I will have just the price of syn gear lube for bill. Only thing new will be crush collar and pinion nut which I got for free doing gear jobs. Posi was free found it upstairs. Oh cool a posi. Gears free from a 4.10 swap. I will super clutch it since I save all the clutches from my reclutch jobs. Don't think I will do the F-150 "S" spring though.

man i paid like $15 for a goodyear gatorback off ebay.

I like the gatorback but have to support my local biz sometimes you know! I had a like brand new gatorback with like 500 miles on it and something zipped one rib off it. I found it was happy then bummed. LOl New belt still slips/chirps when it bangs 2nd. Think I might have to bead blast pullies.

Just got done doing trans. The valve body "Buzz" in P and N is now gone. Thank you! The buzz is from dirt or something in one of the piston valve bores making is not seat and bounce back and forth and flutter and buzz.
Old non "Dimple" trans pan
003_zps18358561.jpg

New "dimple" pan this helps trans NOT neutral out taking a hard right turn. You need matching Gen2 trans filter to match pan.
005_zps468378da.jpg

Stealing pan off 97 trans, stole the reusable pan gasket too because someone put a cork one on Ice. BAD
004_zpsbb494783.jpg

Tip for draining torque converter take 6 inch piece of coat hanger and make 90 degree 1/4 long bend on one end. Remove TC drain plug and insert tiny hook end into plug hole. This will act as a vent and let trans fluid flow like mad.
009_zps41bcba59.jpg

Flowing, FYI 6 qrts come out of the converter!
008_zpsfa5096d4.jpg

Painted pan and filled trans with 11 qrts total.
011_zps11a302b7.jpg

Might bang this out tonight

Thanks for all of the pics, most especially of the recall harness which I came across for the first time in the 98 yesterday because that sucker was swinging wildly in the wind. I thought there was a rattle in the wheel well and discovered two zip ties on that pigtail that the Lincoln guys managed to secure to nothing. Very nice. At least it was a free repair! Lol.

that's the "bad" recall harness, the fuse is on the wrong side. they reissued the recall to replace the faulty harness with one that was fused on both sides but most people didn't go back. ford also has a replacement switch and pigtail to a newer style, in case the switch was leaking when they came in for the recall, but you can buy it and do away with that stupid jumper.

Good to know. I stole this one from my F150 that just went in today for jumper and 5!! other recalls. I can bring Ice down and have new jumper put on. I just went out and disconnected the jumper and switch. Car is in garage up on lift and I could not sleep tonight wondering.

Lets see some burnout vids with that new traction lock and gear set! You should get some vanity plates for it..I'm thinkin "nila ice"

Ok ok I sprung 60 dollars and got a set of 3.73's LOL And I picked up this for 60 dollars too.
