IMRC issue from past threads and current unsolved

I'm very worried about tackling it though because it looks as though I would need to disconnect the fuel rails etc to get it off. After seeing nolimit and others have issues with toying with the fuel, I'm very worried about doing it.

Kids, don't try this at home!

Seriously, R&R'ing the intake is involved, you shouldn't try it. ;)

To me R&R the intake is quite simple but to each his own.

RC, you have TWO sets of gaskets and you should do them both. You need the IMRC to head and the IMRC to plenum gaskets. You are there, may as well do both to be safe.

derek you really should order the two gaskets that go around the base of each of the upper plenum runners too, the intake is two pieces the part your throttle body bolts too comes off the lower plenum, there are two oval gaskets in there too.
i am gonna do the intake gaskets for derek, he asked me if i thought he could tackle it, i said if you are gonna tackle it with the same tool you tackled the valve cover with then my answer is yes, he laughed at that one! so soon as he gets the gaskets we'll get it to my shop so i can get them changed.

I planned on it. I think I need to get one set from Ford because Advanced only has one of the sets (I think lower).

Yeah I'm going to opt for them too.

I want to buy your car Ripped Camel.

I'll let you know if I ever decide to part with it. ;)

When does your generosity end? Lol
Good luck and man I'm glad your out there to help out Jamie!

Ripped, I hope this is the source of your issues too.
I'm really thinking of replacing all of the vacumm hoses in my car just as a preventative measure, I may have a bad hose causing a slight leak, nothing major just want to feel better knowing there done.

Yeah that's a definite good thing to do. At the very least replace the PCV hoses from the intake manifold to the pcv valve. That T line seems to be an issue for a few people so far.

There's no vacuum involved in your IMRC's. Springs close them and the control box, via cables, opens them.

And, on a stock Gen 2, the IMRC's open/close @ 3,000 RPM's.
If the imrc stay stuck closed should i spray wd40 to the spring to unstuck it ? Thanks in advance !
