IS THERE ANY WAY OF GETTING AROUND REPLACING THE STOCK WATER PUMP WHEN INSTALING AN ELECTRIC FAN OF THE 1990 LSC :Bang

No need to replace the water pump at all when installing electric fans. Plenty of room provided you put in a fan that fits.

I just love the artistic use of furnace strapping and duct (100 MPH) tape (on the P/S line). Now that's definitely trophy material at the car show! 'Course I've used it a zillion times, but nobody can prove it...I'm takin' it to the grave. Rmember: you only need two things in life: WD-40 to make things slip that are supposed to but don't, and duct tape to stop things that are slipping that aren't supposed to. That and the KISS principle are what I live by (Keep It Simple, Stupid). Now...what was that I had for breakfast....?

I go for trophies at the track, not car shows. Go before show. The duct tape was there to try and stop PS fluid from spraying out of the high pressure hose when I floored it. It's since been replaced.

But back on topic...those are dual Flex-A-Lite fans. I got them used years ago. Summit, I believe sells 'em. You could also check on eBay - I'm sure there's a few on there.

I just installed one as well, works like a charm and has options for manual operation at the strip as well as after engine shut down ... pretty cool and free's up some pony's ...

the only thing that i was concerned with is the shaft that runs from the water pump to the stock fan, is that able to be removed with out replacing the whole pump.

Yeah, the stock clutch fan unbolts from the water pump pulley.

Here are a couple pictures from about 4.5 years ago when the car was all stock..
